So you want the prize money now for second place yet want the season to be completed? Can only have it one way
No, you can very obviously have it both ways. It sorts out the short-term future of the clubs whilst maintaining sporting integrity. It's the common sense approach, and if it was a club other than Rangers proposing it I doubt anyone would have nearly as much of a problem.

I've been suggesting this exact thing for weeks.

The statement doesn't say that tho...

"  As a club, Rangers will immediately propose a member’s resolution which would release prize money to be distributed to all clubs throughout Scotland urgently. We believe that this is the priority in the present circumstances. It is vital to show respect for all clubs across the Scottish game, regardless of league position or financial standing. We must work together with a unity of purpose for the betterment of the Scottish game"

If they divided the funds equally then fair enough.

That's what many on here have been calling for recently,  not seeing a problem?

There isn’t a problem with it, it probably is the sensible thing to do. But I get the impression that, regardless that most folk see it as the right thing to do, there is no way that the SPFL is going to release any more prize money unless the leagues are ended. So in the SPFL way it is actually one thing or the other, leagues ended and full prize money paid out, or we carry on waiting.

The clubs who want to separate the payment of money now from settling the leagues are motivated by the desire to whine and wail about the terrible injustice of it all a while longer. For at least the bottom three leagues it would be kicking the can a little further down the road for absolutely no good reason: the outstanding fixtures are clearly not going to be played and null and void is not on the agenda either.

There is no way another ball will be kicked for months, not ending the season is just delaying the inevitable so fair enough pay the money but to do that you need to accept the current league positions or share the money equally. What's the alternative if you are going to pay out ? If you don't accept the season has finished and want to pay the prize money then it has to be equally divided 42 ways. How else do you determine who gets what ?

Pay out the money based on one position below the one each club is in.  When the games get completed sort out any discrepancies.

Do you seriously see games resuming in time to complete this season and start next. No chance. Unless it's 4 games a week behind closed doors which would be a farce

There's an alarmingly large minority who seem hell bent on completely fucking up next season's schedule for the sake of maintaining the 'integrity' of a stack of largely dead rubber fixtures. We could be having this debate in six months time and they'd still be insisting on these games being played instead of taking a step back and cutting Scottish football's losses to a sane and manageable amount.

It's almost like they don't get that this is a totally unique situation (one we may never see again in our lifetimes) and calls for a solution that is similarly unique.

Too many folk are trying to apply regularly thinking to an irregular situation.
