16-16-14 could be a set up that might work promote current championship top 4 to top flight

Then current league 1 top 6 to a championship and then the rest in bottom league 1 with top 2 in both highland and lowland leagues promoted

Split the top 2 leagues after 30 games and do as they do in several european countries amd have a title/promotion group in top league with all teams starting on zero points after split then all games mean something after it with any team winning title and euro places and being relegated

Same in league 1 after 30 games any of the top 8 can go in 2 team promotiom and any 2 relagated in bottom 2 then bottom league could do same 2 top from a split and bottom 2 relagted

You really need to stop thinking about what's good for scottish football and start thinking about what's good for the top 12.

Any restructuring that involves jettisoning clubs who weren’t in the relegation zone into the bottom league can get in the fucking sea.

Plus if you promote the top 6 in league one that still only gives you a 12 team championship as you’ve already promoted 4 of them 🤷🏼‍♂️.

If your top two leagues are both 16 you’re using all of the teams down to league one. What then happens about cove/Stranraer which of them makes up the 32nd spot?

Listening to Sportsound at the moment and the difficulty some clubs (Dundee and Hearts) seem to have experienced trying to complete the fairly simple task of voting yes or no and returning the voting form, doesn’t show them in a great light.

Useless c***s.

Championship would be made up of the 6 left plus the full league 1 10 as is now with current league 2 teams and top 2 in highland/lowland making a 14 team league it shouldn't all about what's good for top flight and Rangers/Celtic but every single club in Scotland or what's the point the other 30 outside top flight exsiting

What would you expect from a club that forgot to order the seats for their new stand and a club that employs Eric Drysdale.

You have folk here simultaneously saying that the lower league clubs need their prize money to survive and proposing reconstruction ideas which would quite clearly reduce the value of the TV and sponsorship deals which pay for that prize money.

You can complain about it not being a massive chunk that comes to Leagues 1 or 2, but it's still a hell of a lot more than those clubs used to get in the SFL days.

How do you decide who gets bumped up a league?

A lot of people mewling about the unfairness of using current positions to decide promotion/relegation, but then wanting to use current positions to decide promotions after restructuring.

You cant have it both ways.

Or fucking useless Hearts who fucked up sending an e-mail.

I hear Michael Stewart going on about prize money now. He seems to think we can just pay all the clubs. Is this correct? Do the league already have the money in the bank? If not, maybe there are contractual obligations (e.g. complete the league) that have to be fulfilled before sponsors cash can be released.

The reason we are where we are is clubs wanting the prize money now due to no income coming in but the rules of the SPFL states that the prize money cannot be awarded until the season is concluded.

Absolutely. Suggesting any league set up that doesn’t include 4 x OF games a season is pointless.

Which, presumably they could get round by, oh I don't know, putting it to a vote.

I must admit to chuckling at a Celtic supporter desperately trying to say there’s no conspiracy in Scottish Football....emoji6.png

Most (admittedly not all) Celtic fans are quite relaxed about this and find it hysterical watching the ****, big and small  beg for money or use this terrible situation to avoid relegation after clearly being utter shite.

If we call it we win, if it continues we win. Null and void we go on to win the next few anyway.

Clubs vote no and risk putting other clubs against the wall.

Given the situation, deaths, lock downs and general chaos people (on here at least) are taking this whole thing way too seriously. I think in a few years we'll barely think about this.

Everybody needs to simmer down.

Basically, Ann Budges argument and indeed Sevcos was provide clubs a loan to the value of the league standings until its deemed safe to see the season out but the SPFL refused that and said they must vote to end the season. They also refused to change the rule regading that which would have allowed the season to continue when it was deemed safe and gave clubs a bit of money to see it through to the end.

in other words they arent bending the rules and they have no intention of changing them and if you want the money you vote to end the season.

Maybe there’s also something contractual with sponsors who pay the prize money?

Could be. The suspicious part of me thinks there probably isn't seeing as nobody's come out and categorically said there is.

It's clear that it suits a few folk to come out with vague threats over this rather than be totally honest.

Changes to the structure of the premiership require an 11 to 1 majority. You can forget any league restructure that increases the number of teams in the top flight. They won't vote in favour of less home games against Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen etc to play ICT, Dundee instead.
