The SPFL recommendation?

If you called it null and void but gave out the prize money as is and euro places it probably would be nip and tuck between a vote on it and a vote on ending the season.  Likes of celtic, raith, united and cove would vote against but would many other teams?

Yeah, I'd have thought that would have the better chance of getting passed personally. once you take out the clubs who will vote on obvious self interest (who will more or less cancel each other out anyway), I'd have though most would vote for the void option, rather than call as is.

Keep hearing people bleating on about the injustice on hearts and thistle (Stranraer too I guess - although less vocal) BUT these teams have been bottom for large chunks of the season. It’s not like they just slipped onto bottom spot just before football was stopped. It’s a bit of a brass neck to throw your toys out the pram over possible relegation when you’ve been pish and looked doomed for most of the season.

We're still giving places out on sporting merit we're just not recognising any league champs or relegated sides.

You cannot void a season, and then use that season to hand out awards.

Football doesnt work that way though. It's not how many weeks you spend bottom or top counts. Partick have.played a game less. Win that and Queens are bottom.

You can't null and void the season but use the current standings for reconstruction. All your doing is moving the promotion or relegation places so it affects other teams.

The clubs are all going to be strapped for cash so reducing the number of games and losing the cups won't help.

Only for one season and technically there is no relegation, ALL of League Two has technically been promoted, it’s up to them to make sure they remain in the Top 5 at seasons end to make sure they would be in League One for Season 21-22 in this scenario!!!

Some cups may have to go, if the League thinks it’s going to definitively start up again in August they’re living in cloud cuckoo land, we don’t even know if “Social Distancing” will be rescinded by then!!!

Let's face it the vast majority are of the feeling that the season will not be finished including the chairman of falkirk and Anne Budge. It's the best way to alleviate the issues from this that needs thrashed out a lot more.

It’s an easy way to hide your own inadequacies by blaming the SPFL. The fact that Budge needs to accept is her team has been shite most of the season, a lot of the blame for that lies at her door for persevering with Levein for so long. She is trying to direct the wrath away from her and onto someone else.

A similar situation at Falkirk who should have coasted League One with the squad they assembled. Yes, the premature end of season is unfortunate but was out with anyone’s control. Having that clown McKinnon in charge for so long has really come back to bite you on the arse.

Until UEFA clarify on the 23rd, the top flight cannot be voided if we expect to have teams enter UEFA competition.
Every team down here is screeching about how you can't treat the top flight differently.

If they stick to this view the only clubs in next season’s UEFA competitions will be from Belarus!

With this decision there is only one outcome in the lower leagues and that's to end it now. Leagues cannot be completed when squads are at the minimum with contracts ending. Raith can only field a team of 9, 2 of which are apprentices who have never featured in a game and I'm assuming one of the other 9 will be Lewis Vaughan currently injured until Autumn. Other teams probably Dumbarton for one will have virtually no squad.

As I said most are coming round to that but are wanting far more concrete and in depth talks on how the fallout from that is dealt with.

Again though we seem to be going out on a limb on this when compared to england and the rest of Europe. Whatever happens it's important that all leagues are in agreement over this and what happens next. Seasons end and start dates, transfer windows etc have all got to be broadly the same or havoc will ensue.

This is what the Bosman case fought to stop, what if the players don't want to sign?

The players option could be to either (a) sign a rolling short term contract, month to month, which gives you a wage, or (b) don't sign, its your choice, which gives you nothing, but instead sit in limbo as clubs won't be signing new players while the financial/league set-ups uncertainty continues.. .

What if there is no football at all until the turn of the year? How do we fit a full 20/21 season in between say january and the summer?

There's literally no scenario that you can set out here in which your grand plan of waiting for months to play a stack of dead rubber games better suits the needs of Scottish football: it gives the schedulers far less room for manoeuvre next season rather than more, which should be the sensible approach to dealing with an ongoing and evidently quite contagious epidemic.

Partick haven't won a league game in 2020 and failed to beat Queen of the South at home ten days prior to the suspension of the campaign. Their sense of injustice can be filed in the bin then: or we can just revive the old Polls' Panel to give their certain verdict of an Inverness home win for this super-crucial game in hand instead. The same verdict to Hearts' - given that they blew their chance to move off the bottom by losing to Saint Mirren just before the end of the campaign - and Stranraer who have barely won a game all season.

All three have got no grounds for complaint about being relegated: if they're actually any good then I'm sure they can romp back up in 20/21 regardless.

That's not my grand plan. I was just painting a scenario. My want is for all clubs to get paid some prize money now but no vote to be taken until more in depth discussions are held on the repercussions of stopping the leagues now. Basically what every other european league is doing apart from us and belgium although they seem to be changing their minds already.  Ask for more proposals based on the leagues ending and how to cope with relegation/promotion etc.  In a few weeks UEFA will issue guidelines regarding what leagues should be trying to do and there will then be more of an idea on when leagues will be expected to start their next seasons etc.  Otherwise you risk having a vote tomorrow it failing and clubs going to the wall with no prize money whatsoever.
