Andy groundhopper
My God,just had a terrible thought, Hearts go to court, costing are then unable to find a knight on a white horse, and then go bust. A new club has to start at the very bottom,Hearts Phoenix FC, oh the imagination runs wild. Just accept you're down and bounce back at the first attempt, like every other club tries to do. Have the Icelandic lge got enough teams?

She really believes her own press and thinks she's some sort of shrewd operator when her performance at Hearts shows that not to be entirely the case. If she's misconstrued the situation with Doncaster regarding Benny's money then surely what little credibility her proposal had is kaput. He's now calling her bluff by going 'oh, well if there is no conditions and it's completely above board and altruistic, that's good, let's do it.' I can sense a backtrack coming on. I strongly suspect she was mid-sentence before realising that her bullshit was technically bribery and that applying conditions to that would backfire in all kinds of ways. Imagine being such a simpleton that Neil fucking Doncaster runs rings round you If Jay from the Inbetweeners turned into Chucky and was running a football club....
Sparticus
From what ND says, someone could take it that Budge has tried to bribe the SPFL board through the week.

If it's as being reported, your grasp of 'free' is fanciful. We apparently may owe Sky money with regards to the end of the season. If they sponsor the league, we'll apparently no longer owe them that money. It generates no excess income but it certainly wouldn't be them getting it given to them for free.

She just keeps lobbing them up for him. I wonder if sometimes she forgets she's on national radio when she is blabbing away.

There might not be money changing hands, but remember that the league owes the TV companies money for the 8 matchweeks of unplayed fixtures, so any 'free' sponsorship is just payment or part-payment for the debt. As any businessman knows, payment in kind is always a better option than paying them out in cash.

Falcor Roar
I appreciate that Ann Budge might not be on the verge of understanding how to split the atom but it's just possible that she's not stupid enough to attempt a game of 3D chess style negotiations with the first move blowing up in her face. If she's saying there are benefactors looking to help out the Scottish game then it's nothing to do with Hearts other than the fact that she's brokered the deal.

The Premiership season only ended about 2 weeks ago, with the unanimous consent of all the top tier clubs.
