Sherrif John Bunnell
Gorgeous George is getting a bit Trumpy over his latest defeat. Will his followers be storming Westminster?

Theroadlesstravelled
He won 8000 votes that normally would have gone to Labour. He’s a right wing plant now.
tamthebam
Just heard Peter Mandleson call out Gorgeous George's campaign for racism and homophobia. Shots fired!
Bully Wee Villa
What an absolute piece of shit Galloway is. Well done to the Labour candidate, even if it means we are probably stuck with Starmer for a bit longer. It would have been depressing if intimidation and harassment had won the day, even more so in a constituency where a candidate was actually murdered.

Michael W
He was always going to get a lot of votes in this constituency, unfortunately. I am just surprised it wasn't enough to take down Labour given the Tories looked a shoe in after that weird local party that got 5k votes last time was a UKIP tribute act. Perhaps the Green candidate being binned for his tweets saved the day for Labour. Galloway will be found at the next by election with an electorate containing a high Muslim population as it's the only place he'll win any significant number of votes by focusing on Palestine. Failing that, maybe he'll take another crack at Bradford whenever the GE comes. Probably with another disgusting personal campaign against whomever he's up against. An odious, odious man and a gutter politician. Not unlike Alex Salmond, in some ways - he's had his moment and needs to just f**k off for everyone's sake but the ego won't allow it. ICTChris
It’s important to do proper analysis about what happens in elections. Impartial, empirical analysis that focuses on facts. That way we can understand why candidates get the support they do. On that note I found this great Twitter thread that goes into all the detail on why Galloway lost. Really covers all the bases!

Suggestion is that he's eyeing up Poplar and Limehouse. The current MP is Apsana Begum, who is facing prosecution for fraud in relation to her obtaining a council flat. Trial begins later this month, if she's found guilty she could be forced to step down. Galloway stood there in 2010 after winning Bethnal Green in 2005, he got absolutely smashed.

101
Instead of going to court shouldn't he be tucking into his hat? He said it would be getting scranned unless Labour finished 3rd.

oneteaminglasgow
I assume the going to court thing is just so he can have a fundraiser for the legal costs, spend a fraction of it and then just keep the rest? A reasonable enough gig for him, all it requires is that he totally humiliates himself on a regular basis.
Granny Danger
I’m looking for support from the P&B community. When the next bye election is called can we collectively organise and fund a candidate under the name “The Real George Galloway Party”? I reckon it could cause an aneurism.

Absolutely no need for it. A recurring theme where he's concerned. He accused Naz Shah of lying about a forced marriage amongst other things last time he stood in Bradford. Thankfully he got thumped. He then produced the below leaflet trashing his opponent (a Muslim) and making a pile of assertions about his religious observance. Unfortunately, he won. And then, the was the old 'Hail Hail' leaflet, where he tried to wage yet another sectarian campaign. Thankfully this failed. A disgusting, poisonous man. I'd like to hope that the window of opportunity for this man is just about permanently closed, but there are probably a few areas where his sectarian campaigning might just carry him over the line.
Clown Job
I absolute loath seeing him get any sort of attention Hes a horrible individual, has been for a very long time. I doubt he will ever step foot in that constituency again. Wonder what his next grift will be.
