The US Presidential election prediction thread

Maybe he thinks that if Pence just reads out the wrong results then it counts... [emoji1787]
Probably the best option they've got at this point.
The most they can do apparently is protest each states declaration in congress and delay it as long as possible.
All day job by the looks of it.

Republicans will be like "if you reach across the aisle I will smash your hand with this hammer" and the democrats will still do it

The big difference with having a razer edge majority won't be being able to push "radical" legislation through, not with the likes of Joe Manchin and the like, who have more in common with moderate Republicans like Mitt Romney than they do with the progressive wing of their own party. The main advantage will be in setting the agenda and appointing the committee chairmen etc.

The Republicans may have to pivot if it appears that the Trump approach has not helped their situation in a traditionally Red State.

There could no be push back from conventional Republicans as the fight for 2024 candidacy starts.  Opportunists like Cruz won’t know which way to face.

There's absolutely no doubt that Trump's post-election histrionics have chucked this one away for the Republicans.

Will be interesting to see if the candidates turn on him - they're being punted from office so what is there to lose? Loeffler is a bona fide crank so will probably claim the Democrats have been ballot stuffing, but no idea about the other guy.

Imagine all cabinet appointments will go through fine as well. Would have been a nightmare for Biden if his main picks were vetoed as was being suggested, only way around it is temp appointments which is quite messy for the big names.

Appointing 3 more SC judges will be easier too. ;)

Prediction: almost nothing in America will change in any meaningful way as a result of this.

The Dems will find a way to make doing anything worthwhile unfeasible. Welshbairn has already given one reason. Meanwhile the US left is into its third week of shouting at each other about Jimmy Dore.

Isn't it fun that we're marching towards an extinction event and this is the state of play. Good, imo!

Susan Collins has now lost any influence she ever had.  Which is delightful.

edit: this Rev Warnock, who won in Georgia, seems a pretty progressive fella.  Good stuff, Georgia.

Not sure this is the right place, but it's threads like this that have helped my salvation, or not.

During these troubled times and particularly in the run up to the US elections, I had a road to Damascus moment and discovered God (on Twitter @TheTweetOfGod no less).

Shameless plug, he is starting up a GodCast end of this month.

Details here;

See you all in the afterlife  eternal darkness of death.

Yours
