HIT THE CHANNEL
That was absolutely dreadful. Huge half time talk needed. Attitude/quality has been awful.
renton
Queens have kept a good compact shape off the ball, and pressed well when we've tried to get the ball into the middle. Add to some really slack passing and a lack of shape from us, and it's an absolute steal only being 1 down at half time.

San Starko Rover
Standard Rovers every time we get a game we should be winning our players don’t bother showing up, this has been our worst performance since probably Hughes. There best be some tea cups getting thrown at Half Time. Well done to Queens you’ve played well here and 1-0 flatters our utter gang tonight.
Priti priti priti Patel
We've not been amazing but passing it out from the back and through midfielder, dribbling and managing to hold the ball, and getting shots in - a massive improvement. A few dodgy decisions but generally solid at the back and protecting Cowie well. Rovers long ball not working as well covered already in this thread, but clearly going to be dangerous if they start passing it up the park.
CALDERON
Queen of the South have been really good. Got in our face and played us perfectly. Real concern that nullifying our passing game like that completely kills our play. We have only played one other team more than once, Inverness and they also dealt with us easily. Huge wake up call and reality check. However, failing to test a 16 year old in goals in 45 minutes is really, really poor.
Broken Algorithms
Absolutely awful so far. We've got about four or five players who can be game changers on their day but when none of them show up then you end up with games like this and Inverness away. It's not been helped that we've been misplacing passes left, right and centre and resorted to lumping it up to Duku. The short corners are infuriating: we've had one which was effectively passed into the keeper's hands and one where the ball was played right back to the initial taker who was in an offside position. Very out of sorts performances: credit to Queens who have been disciplined and had good shape. Shields looks very lively up top and they've done well to find space in behind.
Fae_the_'briggs
If we sit back on this lead we won't hold out, keep it going forward.

Michael W
Hopefully we remember to send the midfield out in the second half. That was absolutely dismal and we're lucky it's only 1-0. Defence is a shambles and Duku is hopelessly isolated up front. Add basic errors into the mix too and not a surprise we are where we are so far
roverthemoon
As someone else said, it’s worrying that teams playing us the second time seem to have got our measure. Hopefully McGlynn can get them sorted

R.R.FC
Absolutely dreadful half from us. Worst we have played this season by a country mile and one of the worst performances I can remember since McGlynn came back. Not one player who has been anywhere near it. Basic 5 yards passes going out of play and we have done none of the things which have worked for us this season. Slow and pedestrian on the ball at the back and then far too many aimless long balls bypassing the midfield. Unbelievable that we have wasted 3 corners playing them short given we have 4 players over 6 foot and Queens have been shambolic defending set pieces all season, never mind the fact they have a 16 year old in goals. Credit to Queens they have pressed us well and shown good organisation and energy. Part of the reason we have been unable to get our midfield and wingers into the game is because of the work they have done. They were quite sharp and incisive before there goal. Since then they haven’t been quite as dangerous from open play but plenty smart balls into the channels behind our full backs and have been a threat from set pieces. Vast improvement needed second half if we are to get anything from this.
Raith Against The Machine
I'm reminded of the game down at Ayr where Ryan Stevenson played in goal. Their players seemed so fixated on our ridiculous goalkeeping situation and just totally forgot the basics of just playing football. They should've come out flying after a half time bollocking/regroup, but they never did. They won it on a set piece. We're going to need to be a whole lot better.

TxRover
1 minute ago, Scary Bear said: Why is Grant getting interviewed in front of his wardrobe? So we can analyze the contents, and see what we can see in the mirror, of course. Given scores elsewhere are about as favorable to us as possible for gaining a little space, this is truly terrible!

That's maybe the problem tonight. Wouldn't give a single player pass marks for the first half.Queens have been organised and deserve the lead.
