P&B starts to make a lot more sense once you realise it is just Reddit or Mumsnet for a slightly different demographic.

You used to get annoying loonies with odd views who wouldn't shut up before the internet though.

In those days though you could just go to a different pub/buy a different paper/ have them bodily ejected from the Supporters' Club AGM etc.

I always think that a pub's a fairly good analogy for the board, with each thread being a table or group standing up. Most people are yapping about their shared interest in limited ability football and occasionally divert to other topics. Occasionally a moronic bore with a copy of the Sun under their arm will join in and everyone will laugh at them until they move on.

The stench of stupidity in that thread is astonishing.

Indeed. Only this morning you've got two people claiming Rugby Park is a better ground than Somerset.

Got as far as the capital A between 'but' and 'heart'.

Eta: over 50 votes now and absolutely no surprise interesting to see that (when forced to fall on one side of the fence) almost 80% of posters consider themselves to be better than average.   I presume this means that over a quarter of posters are overestimating their intellectual capabilities against fellow posters?
