I've now realised that I used the red button streams to avoid having to watch the likes of Quek, Walker and Balding in the studio in past Olympics. But because there's only BBC and one red button stream, this is more difficult to do. Unfortunately will be the same for 2024 Edited August 1, 2021 by sparky88
Bully Wee Villa
I reckon I might have to bit the bullet and pay for a month of Discovery+ in 2024. Isn't worth it this year or next because of the stupid timezone.
HibeeJibee
Really odd situation in womens sailing highlights yesterday. Danish girl had a big lead with 2 races left, just had to stick near the Dutch lass and win gold with 1 day spare. Bumped the Dutch boat at the start, got disqualified. However the race was binned when the weather worsened. Dane didn't realise she could join restart. Result? Dutch woman streaked away. Most of the lead gone. Dane's coach rocked-up in his own powerboat and she was pretty inconsolable. Unsure how she fared today. EDIT: Actually she joined restart, then withdraw fearing tournament disqualification for racing when disqualified, incurring a massive penalty for dinghying a race. EDIT AGAIN: She won gold . But shouldn't she get disqualified again for using her coaches powerboat this time?

peasy23
Track cycling under way, the German women have just obliterated the world record in the 4k team pursuit qualifying, taking a full 3 seconds off the mark set by GB in Rio.
peasy23
Team GB were 0.8 seconds up on the Germans at the halfway point, but ended up 1.7 seconds down at the end. They will face the Americans in the semi final tomorrow.
Jambomo
It was good to watch, I hope that GB can manage to fix a few of the mistakes they had. Good to see Chris Hoy on the BBC though, he’s a good guy.
peasy23
Disaster for the Aussies in the men's team pursuit qualifying when one of their riders handlebars came adrift and he went down hard face first. Rules are that you only get a restart if a mechanical failure happens in the first lap, no word yet if the Aussies will be granted a rerun as they were 5 or 6 laps in.

peasy23
GB currently 4th fastest in the men's pursuit qualifying, but Australia are to get another shot at setting a time.
Bully Wee Villa
Seems there are always new Olympic/World records in cycling, much more so than, say, athletics or swimming. Are the cyclists getting better or are they continually making improvements to the bike?
