Bully Wee Villa
Not much. Nobody in Tokyo or Texas is rushing out to buy a Newcastle Aaron Ramsey shirt. Howe will likely just buy whichever players he thinks are likely to keep them up. Michael W
Looks like it's Gerrard for Villa. Prediction: sacked within 18 months and the hopes of the Liverpool job gone.

He will bide his time and leave on a free in the summer. Van de Beek has been an abject failure and total waste of money. United will punt him, even on loan, asap.

How long is left on his Rangers deal? -

Van de Beek has become one of those players who has got better by not playing (the Jack Grealish Euro 2020 phenomenon). In the vast majority of these cases the manager (even one as hopeless as Solskjaer) is right and when they finally do get in the team you see exactly why the manager hasn't been playing him. Maybe he'll get a run and do pretty well, but it's not going to make any significant difference.

DrewDon
The Barclays is a massive step up from beating the likes of Hamilton Thistle 8-0 in Jockland every week.

Bully Wee Villa
Well, he wouldn't have been my choice. But now he's here, may as well give him my support. Welcome, Gerrard.

Sergeant Wilson
BBC gossip "Newcastle are targeting three Manchester United players in January - Netherlands midfielder Donny van de Beek, 24, England midfielder Jesse Lingard, 28, and English goalkeeper Dean Henderson, 24" They'll romp the Championship.

TheScarf
Be interesting to see, if Lingard does sign, how good he is in a shite team as opposed to a good one.

Bully Wee Villa
West Ham weren't, and aren't, shite. I confess, I never really rated him before last season, but can't argue he did a good job there. Think he would do well under Howe. Him and Saint-Maximim would give them a good shout of staying up if they, and Wilson, stay fit. If you take the form table from Lingards time at West Ham through to now (probably longer too but for the purposes of judging the team Lingard played in) it will likely be top 4, and certainly will piss all over anything Newcastle have managed in decades
