Left Back
We were poor in the first half but didn’t deserve to go in behind. We were brilliant in the second half and deserved to win the game by more. The lads that contributed to the poor first half all stepped up to a different class in the second. Robbo, Tierney, Patterson, McGinn all outstanding (not saying they were all poor first half). I’m a fan of Adams but the game pretty much passed him by. Not sure his partnership with Dykes is firing. Can’t drop the big, beautiful Aussie b*****d though. Adams does good work but I want more goals from him. Would like to see McSauce, Gilmour and Meatball in the midfield 3 when Hanley is back. Special mention to the Israelis gamesmanship. GIRFUY. ETA. How the f**k did I not mention Gilmour as being outstanding? AUcal
It's been a long long time since I've seen Hampden like that. The scenes at the full time were incredible. What a night, train up the road bouncing as well. Magic.
sheeptastic
Thought Billy Gilmour was the standout performer. Lyndon Dykes good as well in the second half - https://www.footballscotland.co.uk/spfl/scottish-premiership/lyndon-dykes-focus-scotland-target-21814358

He has the potential to be though. Does he ? He was very good in the second half where he effectively played in midfield. I'm not being harsh here, but I still have seen nothing from him to suggest that he can defend at a very high level. It shouldn't be Scotland's job to develop 'potential'. That should be done at club level. A decent team would have ripped Pattertson apart, sadly.
Popular Post rowsdower
Still chuckling at the fact that they had a player feign a head knock to get our goal disallowed, and took forever getting pretend treatment, for us to get the goal anyway then score again in the time he gifted us.
Scosha
What a result. The scenes at the end with a full Hampden bouncing along to Yes Sir I can boogie was absolutely incredible. So good to see after the past 18 months.
rowsdower
Also, there has to be one person in that crowd who is nailing "yes sir, I can boogie" with perfect pitch, and the poor bugger is never going to get the recognition they deserve.

Maybe ship him out to Aberdeen on loan then where he’ll fit in based on your criteria.

We had a very early set back and came from behind twice to win. Clearly Clarke said something right at half time also. Stop being a vindictive weirdo please. In the first half we looked like the away team, if you think that was an attacking team fair enough. The team may have looked attacking on paper, in reality it was very defensive. He made changes at half time at we saved the game in the end. If you read before I actually predicted us to win. And was correct. So im happy, and happy for him. If you look at the post from the first half there are many many posts slating Clarke and the team. Mine are very mild by comparison. Perhaps its time to let your wee grudge with me go. And concentrate on the national team you claim to support.

The first half failures....Patterson, McTominay, Dykes et al....really stepped up the plate. Brilliant, well done. The defence remains a worry though, no getting away from that. Bairnardo
Ken what was class, and the ball had gone but the camera just caught it... Jack Hendry (im sure it was) bodying somecunt in the middle of the park and standing over them giving it some. The second half needed that.
Popular Post Fratelli
Wee mention for Liam Cooper who came on after the goal, barked orders, moved folk into shape and then went absolutely tonto at the final whistle despite only getting a couple of minutes. He was the same after the game in Serbia despite not getting off the bench. Easy for professionals to be a bit miffed when they don't play - you could see a couple of players on the bench looking a bit static after the goal, but i get the impression he absolutely loves being a part of it and is quite an important member of the group.
Gordopolis
Does he ? He was very good in the second half where he effectively played in midfield. That should be done at club level. A decent team would have ripped Pattertson apart, sadly. Hendry (and a few years back, Hanley) were ripped apart on here because they were ragged for Scotland - and both admittedly cost us more than once. In my eyes, both have always clearly had the potential to be what they have become/are becoming (I'm sure some OFTW will trawl my posts to check).I like Stephen O'Donnell, though we've seen that he is well capable of NPatz's first half... and, to be fair, his second half (maybe without the vision and finesse though). The question we have to ask is: are we prepared to take a calculated risk on obvious talent? Or do we wait - like the old days - for them to become an OF regular or get a big move down south? I'm in favour of the former. Tonight - although it was by a slim margin - that approach worked out positively for us.And looking forward, that 90 mins - especially the turnaround - could be formative for Patterson. I do agree the defensive fundamentals are something he needs to improve upon though - ideally at his club... though are we in a position to pick and choose like that?

I feel like I'm going all Victor Meldrew here, but we have to improve our defence. In all honesty, the 2 defences tonight were pretty shocking. You'll have to look far to see more incompetence on display this weekend.
