It's one or the other mate Probably just shite reporting but it says the police "asked to be let in", if they've not got a warrant for his arrest he's absolutely correct not to let them in, that's not the same as resisting arrest. Given the police kicked his gate in and arrested him I'm guessing they did have a warrant though.
