Next Permanent Hibernian Manager

Recommended Posts

Alex Neil is clearly the stand out option. McInnes a boring but competent option. If it was the summer, or end of season, I could see a wildcard from the MLS or such. Too risky at this stage of the season though. As long as it's not the bald snake Kean.

It'll be the bald snake Kean.

Has he ever done well anywhere, though?

Like I said, most chairmen see he's managed in The Barclays and that's enough for them.  They don't actually care what he's actually achieved.

I have a feeling Hibs will take the same approach as Aberdeen and Dundee Utd and hire a young "emerging talent".

Billy Dodds then.

He's a very good manager. It ended poorly at Pittodrie because it went stale and recruitment was lazy. Tried to replace like for like instead of trying something different. Often happens when a manager is there for that long.

He obviously did a good job at you but feel he's too similar to Ross in respect of not changing things. Crowds were poor even at the start of the season when we were doing well which must be a concern for the club and unsure if it would be any different under McInnes. Not particularly keen on Neil either though tbf.

Out of genuine interest who are you keen on if a guy with as strong a CV in superior leagues as possible for a club in Scotland to have a reasonable shout of signing; and a guy who while it ended poorly is the most successful Aberdeen manager since Ferguson (making them not a joke for the only time in my lifetime) aren't for you? Because I can't really think of a better pair of obvious candidates at any time we've been looking for a coach in ages.

TBH, always felt Ross was a budget McInnes. At least what McInnes became. I've said it in our threads that McInnes became so pragmatic as he was in 'keep job mode'.

I really don't know. Out of the candidates Neil probably makes the most sense but it doesn't really inspire me tbh.

It's ridiculous the Ross has resigned so early in the season. His chairman didn't even get a chance to have an impassioned rant on Sportsound FFS.

Anyway, this open position has Del written all over it.

???

The broadcasters and  papers are reporting that was Ross was sacked.

ETA - Paul Lambert is available.

Why would it be Kean, though - what's he done of note to merit a managerial gig?

What has Ian Gordon done to merit being Hibs' head of recruitment? You seem to be making the mistake of trying to apply logic here.

I've always thought Ross had a decent record in transfer windows - I realise they've had a bad run of results, but this sacking could be a mistake, unless they bring in someone good, obviously - Alex Neil would probably be an improvement on Ross.

Fair enough, I do not what you mean. Just hard to get enthused about any of it atm. Feel a right ungrateful b*****d being not too fussed about the final next week (will change on the day lol)

Seems to be more about Ron Gordon getting his own guys in than anything to do with track records or sporting success.

If Hibs appoint Alex Neil then fair enough, I suppose. If it's Steve Kean then it's alarm bells territory.
