Chiefs 35-0 up and it’s not even half time

Thinking the Raiders doing a pre game huddle on the chiefs symbol wasn't a good idea.

This is just what happens to the Raiders any time they get within a sniff of the playoffs. Every time without fail they find a way to Hibs it. Even in 2016 when they grabbed a Wildcard they still Hibsed the AFC West title on the final weekend and lost in Houston in the first round instead of having the 2nd seed, a week off, and a home game.

Not sure you can really point to 2016 as a 'Hibs'd it' scenario. Carr broke his leg in Week 16 while having an amazing season. Matt McGloin (who?) started in Week 17 where we lost the division, and Connor Cook (who?) started the playoff defeat in Houston.

The last 3 Gruden seasons, you're spot on. Start strong, bottle it as soon as the calendar hits November.

Not having it for 2016 though.

Yeah, the Carr injury screwed them, but it's still typical of the Raiders franchise to find some way of imploding.

Still remember November last year when I was pissing myself laughing in here every time someone mentioned Vegas and playoffs in the same breath. There's nothing more predicable than a late-season Raiders meltdown. Gruden/Arnette/Ruggs seems like outrageous bad luck, but it's exactly the sort of thing that has plagued the franchise for the past 20 years. I don't believe in ghosts, but it really does feel like Al Davis still has his fingers in the pie from beyond the grave.
