Is there a reason why it is that date? Presumably the reason was to stop some tinpot outfit stinking the place out from bringing in a bunch of ringers to try and keep them in the division. And how prescient that decision was.
Squonk
I think you'll find that all players including the five goalkeepers were imperfectly registered but eligible to play in the play-offs as established by one Sandy Bryson Esq of the SFA, until such time as their ineligibility came to light of course, at which point they could be totally exonerated. The need to ready Claggan Park for a match has obviously been kicked into the long grass.
Cyclizine
It's bizarre that Fort William are aggrieved that after they announced they'd be releasing a statement themselves, the Highland League have also released their own.
Craig fae the Vale
Incredible statement from the Highland League. What an utter bunch of shysters Fort William are.

parsforlife
Looks like fort William have taken the piss and are unhappy about being called out on it. IMO they ‘ll be very very fortunate if the SFA/NCL. don’t take severe further action
GNU_Linux
Suddenly Vale Of Leithen's exit from the 5th tier of Scottish football seems eloquent & graceful.

They were asked at the time if they knew of the cutoff but thought because they were Fort it would go unnoticed.

I mean, both teams ended their terms failing to fulfill a fixture. VoL are just fortunate they didn't have it happen to them in a play-off game that shouldn't even exist.
Jimmy Shaker
The pitch issue is clearly an irrelevance as Lossie were sounded out about hosting Fort’s home leg, so it’s really all about the state of their squad.

They knew any competent opponent would check their registrations and so on, and BOD are certainly competent. They knew they would be busted so didn’t bother with their own pitch, hence them throwing the tie completely when told Lossie were fit for hosting their home leg. Caught bonny. Scorge
Reading between the lines, guessing Fort probably could have put 11 players on the pitch but would have been on the wrong end of the biggest 90 minute shagging this side of a Ben Dover video. Don't wish them any ill will in the NCL if they carry on, but they've clearly needed turfing out of this league for a while.

It would have been the biggest profile games probably any of them had played in, I bet the players are gutted.

Loads of teams across the country jumping through hoops to get them and these cowboys are constantly falling below the very minimum standard for being a functioning football club. A wee bit unfair to cowboys, as I know a fair few competent ones. Now, if you call them Cowboys owners…
