Only been there once, back when Ali G was massive (lol), and all the youngsters were swaggering around giving it that faux-Jamaican patois.

Was there a couple of weeks ago&there was indeed a group of yoof on the tram doing just that.was most amusing

"From its biggest private house to a disused tube station, London has long been an attractive place for the Russian president’s cronies to buy property. Their ill-gotten wealth permeated the capital at the expense of us all"

Some theories about why there seem to be escalating losses for the Russian Air Force.

- The RuAF has run out of Precision Guided Munitions and this have to fly lower to use unguided munitions and are therefore vulnerable to MANPADS.

- The Russian commanders have upped the use of combat aviation as part of an escalation but their pilots aren’t good enough to run high level complex missions, see article shared with earlier in thread.

- West are providing higher anti aircraft weapons to Ukrainian forces, along with intelligence.

There is a leaked FSB memo into the war doing the rounds. No idea how accurate any of it is, this guy has done a translation.

Spent a bit of time reading through this.

While it's obviously important to take absolutely everything with a pinch of salt during a war, the problems outlined here are classic issues connected with authoritarian leadership, be it a government or a business with an over-bearing boss.

People are too afraid to send news up the chain that isn't what the boss wants, so bad decisions are made and it's hard to pin down exactly who's to blame or where it went wrong.

Even if this is a fake, the issues it describes are perfectly plausible, I think. I've worked in offices like that, imagine how stupid it is to run a country with people being afraid to tell the truth when asked for expert opinion?

You'd like to think there was talks going on in the background somewhere regarding a hit squad being sent in to take out Putin and his cronies. I've seen talks of the power vacuums and the subsequent mess that countries have been left in after the shitshows of Iraq and Libya etc, but it's hard to imagine the threat to world peace being any worse than it is now after the current Kremlin incumbents have gone, Shirley?

I can imagine a country thats already convinced itself that half the world is against it would respond well to having their President assassinated.

Thread on developments in Russia.

There are some clips featuring extremely graphic content in this thread, combat footage and clips of the aftermath of a shelling.

Probably why they chose Zizzi's. :)

At least someone has a brain to counter Liz Truss's nonsense:-

Don't fight in Ukraine - military boss tells Britons - BBC News

Just like Witty and Valance have shown the senior civil servants are far better to listen too than their pay masters.

Probably because they have spent a long time honing their career rather than being flung into a job because their face fits.

There is nothing about the collective coupons of Johnson, Truss, Patel, Raab, Rees-Mogg, Dorries etc., that says competence, gravitas, trust or confidence.
