Excellent.

There are photographs of burned out vehicles and bodies on the ground in relation to this.

IN the photo there's a guy clearly out walking his dog having a nosey around the dead Russian soldiers.  Utterly bizarre.

Well, the war in the former Yugoslavia was probably the biggest. You've got N.Ireland, Cyprus, Georgia, Armenia, and numerous other insurgencies. There was also The Battle of Hampden Park where 11 Rangers players tragically lost their lives to rebel forces.

In the videos I saw of some of the first air raid sirens going off in Kiev there’s a handful of panicked people running for shelter and another handful of people nonchalantly carrying on with their day. One in particular standing there sipping away on cup of coffee giving absolutely no fucks.

The threat would be if the new safe confinement structure is damaged, it means you can't really continue preparations to dismantle the old, crumbling sarcophagus around the reactor safely, and the longer you wait it might end up falling to pieces releasing radiation.

Yes, I was meaning more that it would be in nobody's interest from either side to do anything which could put the containment at risk.

@Ross. I'm a layman. What is SWIFT, and how will this stop missiles dropping on Ukraine?

It's seem that they are just shuffling papers at the moment.

“Society for Worldwide Interbank Telecommunication” is the Sunday name. Essentially just a messaging service between financial institutions, albeit an incredibly important one. There are many ways to exist as a bank without using Swift. Removing the Russians from it won’t stop anything. Most likely it would just have made the Swift network a target for Russian hackers.

If he had been a Met. policeman, he would have taken selfies with them to send to his mates.
