Club Statement

Darvel Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of a new football management team for 2024/25.

Manager - Michael Oliver
Assistant Managers - Jamie Broadfoot & David Winters

The club received several notes of interest despite the position of manager not having been advertised yet. We enquired about his availability after the game against Irvine Meadow.
On Friday, the club contacted Ashfield to advise them of our intention to offer the position to Michael, and then Michael himself, who was delighted to accept.

David Winters will continue until the end of this season - and beyond.
It is a sign of the respect that Michael and Jamie have for David - and his unwavering commitment to the club and the players - that they wanted him to remain with Darvel Football Club as an integral part of the backroom team. Further appointments to the backroom team will be announced shortly.

Darvel Football Club look forward to working with the new management team next season, with a continued focus on developing the young players in our squad.

Interesting from tony mcnally, quite poor from john gall if true

“If true” being yer key words there m8. From what ave heard the guy is a pathological liar. He knew he was leavin Darvel at end of the season as agreed with board then took the huff when he found out they were looking for their new man to take oot from after the final? What else was he expecting the club to do after agreeing with him that he was going after season?

also knowing boys at Cumnock and Pollok n they say similar endings there.. are all three clubs wrong or is this guy a complete rocket?

It was the worst kept secret in football that Mick Oliver was going to be the new manager but I had never heard it was agreed that Tony was leaving no matter what. Whatever you think of Tony, it’s poor form for a club to be talking to a new manger while 1 is already in post.

Given his predilection for seeking legal advice, it seems very doubtful that McInally would go on to a podcast like this and make categorical statements like the fact he called Gall out about having contacted Oliver.

Tony Mcinally was on track to becoming the most successful manager and most decorated manager in Darvel’s when he was sacked. The we best Aberdeen trophy doesn’t exist.

Michael Kennedy on twitter acting as cheer leader for his pal Michael Oliver who coincidentally left his position.  Was their jealousy on behalf on Michael over Tony’s success with a reduced budget.

Frank Hill claiming no discussions however everyone knew it was going to be him getting the job other than Frank? Simply more lies from the man.

If you were a player you’d not want to be anywhere near that club.
