Ach well. Annan score! Unreal.

Typical 😂

Well deserved for them to qualify, from what I saw against us.

Bloody Hell Ayr.  You had one job.

Admittedly, it's a job we made an even worse job of, but still.

Massive congrats to Annan.  Winning that group from League 2 with 10 points is a great achievement.  Even if we'd held on to beat St Johnstone on Saturday, it wouldn't have mattered.

Bugger.

Brilliant from Annan 👍🏻

Hopefully you get a cracking tie in the last 16.

Their ball will definitely be roasty toasty in preparation for the visit to Parkhead/Ibrox.

Congrats Annan, one hell of an effort and well deserved by the looks of it.

4 goals absolutely flattered St Johnstone tonight.

Yes and no, your defence was a complete farce in the 2nd half, for a spell.

We never looked particularly threatening for any period, but ultimately if you score 4 goals in a game youve done something right.

Elgin shouldve had the same, at least, with the chances they had.

We're out with a game remaining but have benefited in all 3 games from poor finishing from opponents. Its a major worry headed into the league season.

Bugger.

Would we not have had a chance of going through in second place with 9 points?

For what it's worth (not much), the scenario for QoS to go through as a best runner up at the moment is as follows:

First - need to finish 2nd which means we need to match or better St Johnstone's score in winning on Saturday. Even if we win by the same margin but score a goal less, St Johnstone will move into 2nd on Away Goals (unless we score at least 3).

Then we need at least 5 of the following 7 things to happen:

A - Aberdeen beat Raith, OR Raith win on penalties & we win by at least 4 at Elgin.
B - Montrose beat Partick in 90 mins OR Stenny beat Killie in 90 mins OR Stenny win on penalties & we win by at least 3 at Elgin
C - East Fife beat Ross County in 90 mins OR Dunfermline lose to Alloa OR Dunfermline win on penalties & we win by at least 4 goals at Elgin
D - Morton win at Hibs OR Hibs win on pens & we win by at least 5 at Elgin OR Falkirk get 3 pts or less from their trip to Bonnyrigg and home game v Clyde.
E - Arbroath beat Airdrie in 90 mins OR Airdrie lose on penalties & we win by at least 3 goals at Elgin.
G - Livingston are held to a 90 min draw or lose to Kelty Hearts.
H - Queen's Park and Hamilton draw with each other. Accies win the shoot out we need to beat Elgin by 2 goals. Queens Park win it we need to beat Elgin by 4 goals.

St Johnstone's basically the same as they are same points and GD at the moment but have scored one goal less. They'll need to win on Saturday by more than we do or at least by the same whilst scoring more.

It's an incredibly long shot. Group D will clear up a little tonight. Aberdeen and Arbroath will be favourites but even if they do as expected we'd still need at least three of East Fife, Morton / Clyde, Kelty, Montrose / Stenny to win or Q Park v Accies to be a draw. The first six are all away to higher division sides (or same division, bigger club in the case of Clyde at Falkirk).

To be honest it's not even all that likely that the extra point against St Johnstone would have been enough. It's likely 2 teams in Group B will get at least 10 and groups C, D, G & H are all reasonably likely to have a runner up on 9 points. Groups A & E could but it's less likely.

If Stenhousemuir beat us in 90 minutes they would go on to 9 points, which is more than Queens can get.

Missed that. You're correct of course. We'd need Stenny to win on penalties then (or Thistle to lose to Montrose).

Anyway, whilst we still need 4 snookers, we need one less than we did an hour ago thanks to Hibs losing at home to Morton tonight!

With a win over Elgin we would now be guaranteed to be better than the runner up in Group D.

B - Montrose beat Partick in 90 mins OR Stenhousemuir beat Kilmarnock on penalties & we win by at least 3 at Elgin

I rather foolishly bought my ticket for St Johnstone prior to the Annan game last night so I’m going to go. Getting the train from Queen Street to Perth which will arrive about half 1ish. What pub(s) would you recommend and what is the quickest/best way to get to the ground from the station as I understand it’s quite a distance away.

Walk into town centre, Mill Street area. Three pubs within a stones throw of each other; Foundry and King James are fine. Buses leave from that street upto the park, and there’s a taxi rank as well.

Its also where the cinema is, which would probably be a more enjoyable way to spend your time this weekend.
