Yeah agree with that, although you can already walk behind the "main" stand, that's where the toilets are and accessible from both ends.   Terracing at the north end and down the side to halfway would be enough for Spartans really and as you say, stick in toilets and maybe another pie hut open for bigger away supports.

They have a 2nd pie hut at the side of the stand at the banking end use it when there are big crowds.

I think the addition of a weight supporting plinth, steps etc would kinda kill the appeal of these. Bound to add a fair bit of cost.

It's not a terrible stand really and things could be made more workable.

1. provide terracing behind at least one goal,  and possibly at north west side of the ground. That removes the need to provide any standing on the east side.

2. Build a walkway behind the stand.

3. provide facilities right round the pitch, especially on north side.

You just need to look at new central park on how to turn a old non-league ground into being SPFL appropriate.

It would be good if they stepped the banking behind the goal maybe would have to leave it without a roof due to people in the houses maybe objecting.

There is a walkway behind the stand where the toilets are could maybe do with another toilet block with the bigger crowds they are getting now.

Didn’t realise this, and the numbers who walk in front of the stand suggests many more don’t either, so instead of build a path we change it to enforce use of the path behind the stand.

There's simply no way you can tell from that angle, even with the freezeframe.

I assume you agree that you very much can?

Tonights Tranent v Rovers game is on after a pitch inspection. Elsewhere in the capital Civil Service Strollers v EK is off.

Excellent , still need Tranent and EK to complete the Lowland league for now. That decides the choice of game tonight.

Tranent 1-1 Albion Rovers

What an excellent advert for the Lowland league, an end to end game on a good surface for this time of year with two sets of passionate fans who were able to stand next to each other under the cover last night.

The game was in the balance right until the last kick of the ball.

Who EK will face in the HL/LL playoff remains up for grabs with 3 HL sides still in contention going into the final week of games, Brechin, Fraseburgh and Buckie.  Brechin remains favourite with points in the bag and an advantageous goal difference, but the gap can be closed, with any dropped points likely to be pivotal.

  Pos P W D L GF GA GD P
Brechin City FC 1 32 24 3 5 87 27 60 75
Fraserburgh FC 2 32 23 3 6 89 37 52 72
Buckie Thistle FC 3 31 23 3 5 84 33 51 72

Remaining fixtures

15 April Buckie v Strathspey

16 April Brechin v Keith

17 April Strathspey v Buckie, Fraserburgh v Brora

20 April Brora v Brechin,  Buckie v Keith,  Fraserburgh v Strathspey

Strathspey's involvement could be key, given that they have conceded 127 goals thus far.  The opportunity is there for Buckie, in particular, to take advantage of their two games in midweek against the bottom club, while Fraserburgh play them on the final day. Brora has games against both Brechin and Fraserburgh, so there is scope for dropped points, similarly with Keith playing both Brechin and Buckie.

One way to look at it is that whoever the HL champs are they will come in battle hardened, in that they are playing at full tilt to the end. EK will have scope to rest players which can also be viewed as a good thing. Either way should be a good competitive play off.

The uncertainty also adds spice. We know EK will be the SLFL representatives but the unknowns are with the SHFL and SPFL. My bet at the moment is that will be Buckie Thistle and Stranraer.  Exciting!

I think that the LL/HL finishes at least a fortnight too early to be comfortable. Playing 4 games a week at this stage shouldn't really be happening.

Not sure what the answer is other than putting in another couple of midweek rounds during the season, or getting the League Cup out of the way at the start with two games a week.
