vikingTON
How reliable is that possession stat? Having 50-50 possession of the ball (if true) in a game that you proceed to lose 5-0 would be the real red flag than just being pounded by a better team away from home, which happens. That's major Kenny Shiels losing 10-2 at Hamilton vibes.
bod
Can you imagine what our next home crowd will be v embru if this charlatan is still in charge. Surely for the sake of the club they do the right thing. They can use the unexpected cup run money towards the payout

Kunter
If the clubs target for this season was promotion then Bartley would be long gone. What promotion hunting club would continue with this league form? Just wouldn't happen. They either can't afford to sack him, too scared to sack him or are quite content.

Given how we've been playing of late (we like to pass it from LB to RB and repeat) then I'd imagine 50/50 isn't likely to be that far off in all honesty. There's plenty of red flags to go about, that's just another to add to the ever growing list.

Monkey Tennis
Might there be any significance in the fact that no toe curling interview with Bartley has yet appeared? Perhaps not. I thought Gamergate must mark the end at the time, but nothing changed over the following few days. It'll probably be the same this time round. We'll see.

19QOS19
Hopefully it's because Marv is technically not the manager anymore. Won't hold my breath though.
Stellaboz
What was the fascination with Bartley anyway? Just an old pals act on the radio bumming him up? Seems totally out his depth.

Not too difficult to comprehend really, he was a change from the usual suspects, he probably interviewed well, he had good coaching experience, he was a not bad player at big clubs under various managers, he was inexperienced in management tbf but after a few miserable seasons we hoped this fresh approach would pay off, obviously not. As a Falkirk fan you know that some appointments just don't work out even when fans are happy with the appointment at the time.

Slipmat
Looking at the list of managers who have been appointed or given temporary charge of the team since Hewitson became chairman, the majority of years which have seen us in decline, a pattern suddenly emerges when it comes to the "previous managerial experience" section of their CV's: Allan Johnston - none Jim McIntyre - Dunfermline James Fowler - none Gavin Skelton - none Jim Thomson - none Gary Naysmith - East Fife Allan Johnston - QOS, Kilmarnock, Dunfermline Wullie Gibson - none Grant Murray - Raith Marvin Bartley - none Maybe time to ditch the untried approach? And if we go down the tried and tested route just make sure it's not AJ again. Edited December 3, 2023 by Slipmat
