Moving to Scotland (Dundee) from England

I’m looking to move to Dundee over the next 3-6 months from England.

Any tips etc? I last lived in Dundee 2008-2009.

I’m much older and creakier now.

Ideally just looking for a one bedroom flat to rent atm so any recommended areas would be great.

I worked with a delivery driver who operated all over Central Scotland. All of his best/grimmest stories came from Dundee.

He was literally propositioned by a passing Dundonian scheme goblin while I was with him. Didn't seem like I was invited.

Seeing as nobody who lives there is giving you any advice, I've seen a couple of episodes of Bob Servant and Broughty Ferry doesn't look too bad.

Seriously, you're not that hard up!

Still a tad offended, but.

I know Dundee pretty well.

I can afford to live there comfortably.

Even my hometown Hereford  (where I live now) is too expensive to live solo!

I didn't mean hard up financially!

If you're really desperate for company, you'll do alright. Allegedly.

My serious answer is I wouldn't live anywhere other than Dundee's leafy West End.

Good pubs and restraunts and parks within walking distance and if you stay west of sinderins the actual residential bits are really quiet.

Loads of busses if you do fancy venturing East of the Nethergate.

I hate the Ferry with a passion but lots of other people seem to like it.

The Law is probably OK. Again nice and quiet and walkable to town and the football.

Whays your budget? I'm away to sell a house on Hyndford St. I'll give you 1% off.

I spent a good few months in Hereford on business - mostly stayed in the Green Dragon or the Three Counties.

Dundee's an upgrade IMHO.

Yeah. I grew up in Hereford and it’s tiny. I know everyone so looking for a new start.
