Dunfermline Don
Don’t know if it’s been mentioned on here already, but there is a Liz Trussell whose handle on twitter has resulted in her getting congratulations from a few world leaders. She would also probably do a better job than the incumbent PM.
paranoid android
Genuinely don't recall there ever being such coverage of a leadership contest or of a new PM.

Just the media again pushing the false notion that we’re in a presidential system, whilst ignoring the fact that 1. We’re not. and 2. This is the same government - all that’s happened is that the party in government has switched leaders and had a cabinet reshuffle. Got to give Liz that bounce, what? Rejoice!

BFTD
The parallels with Thatcher are really unfair on the auld witch. Thatch had convictions and beliefs about how society should operate; beliefs that could genuinely be considered evil, but nobody could deny her sincerity. Like many of her peers, Liz Truss believes in nothing but self-interest. Playing mini-Thatcher suits her because it's what her bosses seem to want right now, but she's flipped personas many times in the past, and will again if it benefits her personally. People like her and Johnson are worse; they'll pursue policies they know will end in disaster because it will keep them in power, or gain them brownie points for their life after politics. And I hate them so much for making me nostalgic for people like Margaret Thatcher.
DA Baracus
The removal of ECHR is an exceedingly bleak prospect. Employers across the country will be drooling over what rights they can strip away and how much less they can pay people for doing more.

BFTD
More like, the government will shut the unions down. Millions will applaud. Millions will claim that union membership is pointless anyway. Things will continue to get worse for them.
