One of the worst rose performances I’ve seen in many a year

Thought Whitburn were superb especially in the first half.

Enjoy your night lads. Rose were poor but we didn’t deserve anything.

Great to see you in the way up even if it’s at our expense! 🌹

What a fitting cup final

5 goals... including a couple of crackers

Missed late penalty to equalise

2 sendings off

Underdog rising to the occasion.

And all in front of a pretty sizeable crowd too.

Congratulations to Whitburn. Over the 90 mins, they were deserving of the victory.

Congratulations to Whitburn the best team on the day and the team who played it as a cup final.

The Rose team sheet clearly reflected availability / injury woes. That said the team selected should've been good enough against a team 2 leagues below.

Whilst LL is the priority such opportunities to win a trophy shouldn't be missed.

Very disappointed.

Fantastic - often frantic - final to conclude what has proven a fabulous tournament.

Rose looked like pulling off a similar comeback to SF even after initial red but penalty save to avoid ET won it for Whitburn. Great commemorative programme too: filled with centenary content.

Link won't work but some nice coverage of Vale-Whitehill yesterday as well.

Don't suppose these men could possibly have envisaged what the league they helped launch with 7 clubs exactly 100yrs ago would go on to survive, achieve and become over the subsequent century.

Bump.

This week - Tuesday to be precise - marks 100yrs since Coldstream lifted the inaugural EOS League title:

They won 2-0 v Selkirk at Ettrick Park to pip Berwick Rangers by 1pt:

This was their season schedule... note they also played in no fewer than 7 cups - winning the EOS Consolation Cup, visiting Hampden in the Scottish Amateur Cup, plus reaching the Scottish Cup for the first time (posting Home Park's record 4,000 attendance :o   v Armadale):
