PauloPerth
Champions of the bottom six is probably beyond St Johnstone now, but Motherwell must have the title firmly in their sights. The clubs battled it out in 2017-18 with Well pipping Saints by 2 points, despite Maclean scoring a hat trick in a 5-1 last day Saints victory at Fir Park. Saints bounced back to claim the title the following season, only a point above the Steelmen. Whilst we feel so close to safety, we have to take something here. If we lose then we play back to back killie and County away, with both teams having everything to play for. We really want to avoid needing to take something from our final fixture. I don’t think Kevin Van Veen’s goal on Saturday was quite as good as Guy Melamed’s at New Douglas Park 2 years ago, in the ‘trying to be Bergkamp’ stakes. But it was a decent attempt. 6:00 here or 4:00 here: Spoiler I know, I know. It was either this or this but you wouldn’t let it lie, so here we are. capt_oats
@PauloPerth mentioned the 5-1 in our 2 Cup Final season but on top of the fact that it feels like we find Perth a difficult place to go in general our record against Saints in post-split fixtures is absolutely fucking garbage. We've only won 2 of 6 and our last post-split win against them was in 2014. 18/19 - 11/05/19 - St Johnstone 2 - 0 Motherwell 17/18 - 05/05/18 - Motherwell 1 - 5 St Johnstone 15/16 - 07/05/16 - Motherwell 1 - 2 St Johnstone 13/14 - 03/05/14 - Motherwell 2 - 1 St Johnstone 12/13 - 19/05/13 - St Johnstone 2 - 0 Motherwell 11/12 - 28/04/12 - Motherwell 5 - 1 St Johnstone I mean, the Killie game has given us a fair bit of breathing space, we're obviously in quite good form and we've scored in every one of Kettlewell's games in charge but if there's likely to be a game that will f**k things up it feels like it'll be this one. Gekko
I've never heard the Dutch commentary to the Bergkamp goal before, that's excellent. Also, I'd forgotten how good that Melamed goal was. Great take and finish. As for the game, hope for the win obviously but it has a 1-1 feel about it to me.
RandomGuy.
First game v a 3-5-2 for MacLean, so interested to see if he adapts anything with the shape, or whether 4-3-3 remains hes default with tweaks within it. Our narrow wingers might actually work well v this, and lead to an open/exciting game, as itll virtually be 1v1 all over the park. Van Veen against Gordon is a bit fearful, but Gordon looks a lot better in a back 4 so stands a chance. Might see McGowan back in at RB to combat van Veen aerially, otherwise be easy for him to drift onto Brown and win a lot. Not sure its worth changing much else. Maybe think about what he wants on the left wing but Carey/Hallberg/Montgomery were great v United so give that a chance to form.
Radford
Best case scenario: 8 points clear of Killie and 8 or 9 clear of County at full-time. Worst case scenario: Back to just 2 points ahead of Killie and, probably, County within 3 points and those being our next 2 fixtures. Think there was an improvement from Hibs to United and probably not too much you'd change. Been a long time since I've felt like that. Phillips455
Well Van Veen is going to score so hopefully we can improve by winning at Perth. St Johnstone already got 7 points from us this season. The same as Celtic!
DeadStar
The yellow and purple has massively upset me so I hope it's 6-0 to the good guys to even it out.
Gianfranco
St Johnstone were so streetwise at Fir Park in February. The form KKVV is on you expect him to score. I’ll go another 1-1 in Perth.

Motherwell also didn't help themselves by making Cammy Macpherson and Dan Phillips look like prime Xavi and Iniesta in the most game at Fir Park. Motherwell looked doomed based on that nights performance. Not the case though!
Kapowzer
Good luck to St Johnstone on Saturday versus what I guess is Fiorentina wearing their third top.

Handsome_Devil
Would be very happy with a draw...especially if KVV keeps on track. Normally I say we're due a bad one, in this case we're well overdue a result in Perth!

capt_oats
I'd absolutely take a draw here. Having a look at our record in Perth going back to 2009 - it really is fucking murder. 6 wins in the 23. 6 draws. 12/11/22 - St Johnstone 1 - 1 Motherwell 19/03/22 - St Johnstone 2 - 1 Motherwell 08/08/21 - St Johnstone 1 - 1 Motherwell 21/11/20 - St Johnstone 1 - 1 Motherwell 12/02/20 - St Johnstone 2 - 1 Motherwell 28/09/19 - St Johnstone 0 - 1 Motherwell 11/05/19 - St Johnstone 2 - 0 Motherwell 15/12/18 - St Johnstone 1 - 2 Motherwell 07/04/18 - St Johnstone 0 - 0 Motherwell 12/08/17 - St Johnstone 4 - 1 Motherwell 17/12/16 - St Johnstone 1 - 1 Motherwell 20/02/16 - St Johnstone 2 - 1 Motherwell 22/08/15 - St Johnstone 2 - 1 Motherwell 31/10/14 - St Johnstone 2 - 1 Motherwell 25/02/14 - St Johnstone 3 - 0 Motherwell 27/10/13 - St Johnstone 2 - 0 Motherwell 19/05/13 - St Johnstone 2 - 0 Motherwell 03/11/12 - St Johnstone 1 - 3 Motherwell 10/12/11 - St Johnstone 0 - 3 Motherwell 26/01/11 - St Johnstone 1 - 0 Motherwell 11/09/10 - St Johnstone 0 - 2 Motherwell 06/03/10 - St Johnstone 1 - 2 Motherwell 15/08/09 - St Johnstone 2 - 2 Motherwell
RandomGuy.
Id be content with a draw, tbh, assuming we are competitive, score, and look like winning at some point. Baby steps and all that but that would be 3 home games, 0 defeats, goals in all 3 and 5pts. If its fairly entertaining then thats 3 games where thats happened too, for me. Further steps away from the absolute black hole of misery visiting McDiarmid was under Davidson.
