DrewDon
That was absolutely outstanding from Simon Hooper, by the way. The timing of the whistle, the initial advantage, the manner in which he swats away the City protests. 10/10.
DrewDon
Also a huge admirer of the Fulham fans sitting down at Liverpool away. Superbly on-brand.

He obviously wanted to play advantage, but once he became aware that it was a clear an obvious Jack Grealish who was through on goal it's an easy decision to make. Strong refereeing. Incidentally, Drury is quickly descending to Crocker levels of asininity. "He feasted on his moment". Ooft. And in case we didn't get his point "he was hungry for that" was added seconds later. Pish. Not fishing for red dots or anything, but not a fan of a female commentator and having two of them for the Liverpool game sounded awful. Whenever anything exciting happened the sound was like seagulls round a bin. Dreadful.
SH Panda
Chelsea fans were applauding Gilmour during the Brighton game, he had a good game too. Sure they would have much rather kept him than the uber donkey Gallagher. From a fantasy perspective, taking Watkins out for Nunez was a painful experience.

It's weird how Gallagher now seems a mainstay for both Chelsea and in the England squad, because I really don't see what he offers. He runs around a lot and he's technically reasonably good but surely there must be more than I'm not seeing. It's baffling. Just caught their game this morning and their winning penalty was a stinker I think. Mudryk overruns it, Milner comes across him to make sure the keeper can collect and there's a slight coming together. Surely that isn't enough for a "Clear and obvious error" when the referee has seen it? Also, why did they send Pawson to the monitor for the handball shout at the end? Surely the VAR just says "it hit his head, no pen, just a corner" and they'd have saved a few minutes?

accies1874
Would you rather be rooted to the bottom or rooted to Heckingbottom? I'd opt for the former tbh. Edited December 4, 2023 by accies1874

It's cringy and trying to hard imo. Edited December 4, 2023 by 2426255
jagfox
De Gea could be returning to the Barclays with Newcastle as Nick Pope will be out for a fair bit.

If he'd only let play continue a bit longer the Spurs player would have had to cynically chop him down. Man City would still have dropped points and Spurs would have a player suspended which would arguably be a better outcome overall But somehow not quite so dramatically pleasing

How many goalies do they need? Even if Pope is out they still have Dubravka, Karius, and Gillespie on their books

doulikefish
The seethe on social media is fantastic over the grealish thing , I honestly think that half of them think he was about 2 yards from goal and not about 5 yards over the half way line when the ref blew his whistle

s_dog
I liked the comment I read that after his glaring miss in the first half, maybe Haaland thinks it'd be acceptable for the ref to scream into his face for making a mistake
