an86
Blaming the red card. Not good enough. Even if you think the ref was wrong, and I don’t think he was, you play with the cards you’re dealt. In fairness to the players, they did that. The coach did not. You cannot take Robson, Thomas and Thomson off when you’re trying to dig out a result. Crosses the line from naive to insane. The result is 100% on Veldman and he has to own it. We might not win the game if he doesn’t make the changes, but I’m close to certain we don’t lose it. He needs to learn from that. He chucked those points today and let his squad of players down.
lellywong
Bloody hell what a game, not good for the old ticker. Saying that we gave Queens Park far too much possession after the red card, horrendous defending and we're 1-2 down. A huge thank you to Lewis for his 2 goals, what a 90 plus minutes, what a team

Spider Rico
The contrast of Raith being able to bring on the likes of Easton and Vaughan to try and win them the game, vs what we had, is quite something Edited September 2, 2023 by Spider Rico

Broken Algorithms
Probably my favourite bit of work from Raith TV. For someone who works as a volunteer, Davie is excellent interviewer - keeps it professional while also having a brilliant rapport with the players. You can tell how much it means to Vaughan. Brilliant stat in there too.

Each week I almost bypass the subs bench when announced purely cause I know there’s little to be excited about Desperately need a couple signings before the next league match

Popular Post Raith Against The Machine
Real depth, excellent consistency, proper bite, and an absolute joy to behold. But that's enough about the donner pies, let's talk about this Rovers team. Yet again, a class afternoon. Above all with this side, you get value for money. Maybe the Albion Rovers game was a little dull, and we didn't make as much of the Hibs game as we might've, but other than that every game this season has been a cracker. Maybe it'd be better for the heart if we were just grinding out 1-0 wins, but I'm having a whale of a time. The Queens' fans are rightly lambasting their manager for his substitutions, and I'm going to do the same before backtracking wildly later on. Gullan for Hamilton at half time was entirely the wrong call. It changed the game immeasurably. Hamilton hadn't made the most of his chances, and he doesn't have the pace to generally make the most of a team leaving as much space in behind as Queens did, but he was absolutely bossing it. The defence couldn't cope, he had one of them sent off, and he was giving the rest conniptions. By staying central and winning his headers, he had Queens on the ropes and it was rippling through the rest of their team. They couldn't settle, couldn't get find a rhythm as they tried to play out, and other than a couple of short spells of respite, looked very likely to concede. The theory, obviously, was that Gullan's pace and running in behind would make the most of the opportunity afforded by the frankly mental choice to keep that high line, but he spends so much time ploughing barren furrows on the flanks that the defence suddenly had time to settle into the game. And when the defence settles, they can start to knock the ball into the midfield, where Queens Park actually have half-decent players. Instead of continuing to turn the screw and keep Queens' under pressure, we got dragged into a game of football. And in games of football, players make mistakes. And on the scale between accidentally using the wrong fork at a fancy restaurant and the ill-fated Bay of Pigs invasion, Dabrowksi's error had a distinctly Cuban feel. Is it possible he was caught in four minds? Even as he made contact he didn't seem to know where he was catching, parrying, punching or getting to the ball after the striker. It has felt like an error was coming, and hopefully it's a case of getting that one out the road and then forging ahead. Certainly his save in the run-up to the second would've gone some way towards atonement if the ball hadn't ended up in the net three seconds later regardless. In a tale of two goalkeepers, though, it really isn't fair to spend too much time on the one who made the mistake. Callan McKenna was absolutely phenomenal in the other goal. It's a cliché to say he didn't deserve to end up on the losing side, but not only is true, I'd have him as the man of the match across both sides. And that's without any sort of modifier based on his age. That was a standout Championship goalkeeping performance, period. I don't know that I've ever seen anything quite like it from a player at that age, in any position. He just looked so assured and so confident, like he was playing his 500th game. Truly excellent. But to go back to Murray's substitutions, if his first let Queen's Park into the game, his subsequent changes won it back. I could be slightly churlish and say that he has the luxury of some excellent Championship forwards to turn to, but he built the squad. Last season, we wouldn't have had anything like that quality to use, and I suppose it meant hooking Euan Murray felt more measured and less panicked that it would've done previously. Veldman deserves all the flak he gets, but I'm not surprised he wanted to get some fresh legs on. There are very few Championship defenders who'd relish being run at by a newly unboxed trio of Ethan Ross, Dylan Easton and Lewis Vaughan. (I'm not going to get into the Scott McGill of it all, this post is long enough without me banging on about fucking full backs again, but I will just say that the second goal proved we need to start four proper defenders, and Liam Dick's substitute appearance proved we need a better option for left back when we're trying to go forward. He does his best, but he's got nowhere near enough quality for what we're trying to do.) And finally, Lewis Vaughan. What a boy. What a man. Is there anyone, in the history of this football club, that you'd rather have banging in a last minute winner and running the length of the park to celebrate in front of the South Stand? There's not for me. I'd trade a lot to ensure Vaughan got to enjoy his football, and to see him enjoy it that much, and for us? Utterly brilliant. Here's to many, many more.
Nairney
At 1-0 up, those Queens Park goals were frustrating to lose… however, purely from an “entertainment” point of view coming back, in the way we did, was much more thrilling than grinding out a 1-0 win. Absolutely buzzing at full time!

I suspect the community foundation has done some stellar work in helping with stuff like that. It's great to see so many people getting invested in the club for the first time, whether they're young or old. Last week I had the young team behind me, 4 of which directly behind me smoking vapes, also 1 of the guys fell right on top of my friend , , further back there was a young guy who slept through whole game, his sickness was running down concrete steps about 4 seats along from m, my seats, , and before I get slated yes the young team were very vocal supporting their team ,

qpfc
Taking off Jack Thomson who had put in as mature a performance as I’ve seen the guy in an unnatural position in the 90th min for a 17 year old striker is as bizzare a decision as you’ll see all season
