It's often been said that this is an East Coast thing (East Coast being between Aberdeen and Edinburgh). Then I watched The Scheme and discovered the good people of Ayrshire are also kenners. Then I found this linguistics survey and their data suggests its usage extends right down to the border and all over the South West of the country, the latter of which especially surprises me. As a matter of fact, Glasgow would appear to be swarmed with kenners.

Do any Glaswegians want to own up to saying ken?

I was initially going to have a go at the non kenners but then I thought nah, Ken is the bond that ties the rest of us together - we should embrace that positivity. 

But then I saw this

What the f**k is a "crannie" and what the f**k is wrong with people from Aberdeen? It's always them.

So now I pose two questions to P&B - 

1. Do you say ken?

2. Should Aberdeen(shire?) be hoisted like a jackup rig and floated out into the North Sea?
