Why were folk determined to have Aberdeen at home to Bonnyrigg on the TV?

Same with the Kilmarnock game, strange.

As it is with BBC keen to keep their Friday slot then our game was the most attractive match available though I am surprised they didn’t take the Hibs for the Monday night.

I don’t think it was due to be determined more that Sundays Sportscene seemed to be giving Bonnyrigg a lot of loving

Brora's pitch passed a pitch inspection yesterday for tonight's game v Cove, miraculously.  I still half expect it to be called off at some point today.

Wonder which game(s) will be the feature matches tomorrow on Sportscene.

Aberdeen vs Bonnyrigg would be a shoe-in you'd suspect, and probably Thistle vs Livi - you'd think they might be a bit lazy and not send the OB trucks up to Inverness.

Paul Mitchell Tweeted/Xed earlier in the week that he'll be doing ICT v Hibs for Sportscene.

There’s only 5 games on. It would need to be a seriously tinpot national broadcaster that doesn’t cover them all properly.

Oh, wait.

All games will likely have some form of “live” multi-camera coverage (as in, the pictures being sent back to Pacific Quay instead of being recorded on the cameras). This is usually very limited, though - for example, games covered in this way in the last round didn’t have “live” replays; instead, they were edited in later.

But three games will always get a “full outside broadcast” treatment. This means even more cameras, pitchside mics, a match director, “live” replays and (generally speaking) commentary done “live” at the ground. Essentially, something close to a live broadcast but only for highlights.

The three games will always include any already shown live on the day (so Rangers v Ayr today), plus one or two 3pm games (today it should be two because there’s only one live game).

Comparing us to England is always a bit foolish, but every third round game had a four-camera OB set up at it, plus the 9 TV games would have had as many as 12+ cameras at them (the S4C and BBC Wales games would have had far fewer tbf)

Is this going to be the same as last time when the draw was advertised as being at the start of Sportscene but was actually at the end?

It couldn't be with those numbers.

BBC Sport website suggests differently - I was about to watch the Airdrie v Hearts game and wasnt aware that it had already been played..........

The full quarter-final draw

  • Greenock Morton v Airdrieonians
  • Celtic v Livingston
  • Aberdeen v Kilmarnock
  • Hibernian v Rangers
