St Johnstone v Livingston - 02/03/24

Dreadful game that picked up a tiny bit after the goal. Not confident at all that we'll hold on, can see us coming out second half and just trying to sit back.

That pitch is dangerous.

Had a feeling this would be a struggle after Wednesday night.

Livingston were never going to be as powderpuff and give us as much space as Aberdeen did.  We’ve never figured a way of playing against them yet. It generally comes down to who scores first.

We need to do better than hopeful crosses from 30 yards out; try to get a striker over to link up with the wide midfielder do we can get in behind gor a cross.

The pitch is dreadful.

A draw would be great for us from here.

Dunno. All we’re doing in chucking balls into the box in the hope that something falls, but as usual, the delivery has been largely poor. A combination of sitting back and the awful pitch will probably work as the only way we create any chances is through Kimpioka’s pace.

Motherwell and Aberdeen both winning, just need County to score against Hibs for the ultimate shite day for Saints.

All change except Motherwell and will let them off since it is Rangers they are beating!
edit. Have beaten.

A very poor performance, but ultimately the result has ensured that there's barely a 1% chance of Livingston catching us, whilst it has also put us one point further ahead of Ross County and elevated us above Aberdeen in the league table.

Probably went as expected, important not to lose so fair play for pulling it back. Convinced the ball was only in play for about 25mins.

Shows again what Clark will do with decent delivery, too many wasteful ones from Keltjens and Robinson.

Great to see Adama back.

edit for adama, certainly not Derek Adams.

That was an utterly dreadful game of football. Both sides dreadful, ref dreadful, pitch dreadful.

Goal was out of nowhere and I expected the VAR check to screw us.

An awful game.

I have to say not as gutted as many might be. We were really poor in the first half and the way that second half was going, it didn’t feel like we’d get a chance never mind a goal. It was so stop start there was barely any passages of play without the whistle being blown.

I wasn’t all that optimistic going into the game as Livi were never going to be as powderpuff and easy to play against as Aberdeen, and we’ve never really found a way of playing against them that works.

After we were a goal down and the way Livingston kill the game and prevent you getting any momentum, on a shocking pitch, getting a point was okay.  The players didn’t panic and created a good goal. Not a good watch but it never is against them.

At HT with Motherwell, Aberdeen and Livi winning and County drawing, it looked as though it was going to be a bad day. But in the end, we’ve gained on Aberdeen and County and not lost ground on Livi. Third bottom is still the target for us.

As for Livi, f**k them. Be delighted to see the back of them.

That referee was fucking pathetic and a long line of them that we’ve had to watch at Mcdiarmid this season continues to grow.

The governing body is fucking useless, our referees are fucking useless, and VAR Has just been the icing on top.

If I could sack the lot of the c***s and start afresh I would.

lovely to get a draw after that playacting, unlucky not to push for 3.

One of the most pathetic performances ive ever seen from a top flight side from Livingston today. Absolutely baffling too as the game was there to be won but they preferred to spend virtually the entire match time wasting.

We were poor but youve no chance of doing anything when the balls only in play for about 30 minutes of a match. Staggered that even at 1-1, with 10+ minutes left and the position theyre in, they still tried to take all the tempo out the match.

Cowardly football got what it deserved, when any form of bravery and theyd have 3pts and still a chance of staying up.
