Scottish Cup final, Celtic v Rangers 2012, Hampden Park. 25th May

The two best teams in Scottish football,  aye right. Dreadful game from two poor sides.

Also highlighted the poor refereeing standards we have in Scotland with Nick Walsh  putting in his signature poor refereeing performance,  how does he get away with it?. As fir VAR,  not used as it has been in previous games and certainly not hiw it would be used against non old firm teams.

Eh, what was wrong with the ref? He had a decent game.

Dogshit game.

Rangers couldve won that if they didn't have half a squad desperate to win brownie points with fans rather than just winning.

Cantwell, Sterling, Sima, then Lundstrum, all acting up to show "passion" then failing when it mattered.

That was like one of those forgettable Celtic v Dunfermline finals that seemed to happen a few times 20 years or so back.

The second of those was arguably the worst final.  A near 0-0 spared only by a late car crash Doumbe goal.

Skerla giving the Pars the lead in a final involving the OF (being 1-0 up at HT) in a four goal game on the other hand is hardly forgettable.

Ditched this for the FA Cup at half time, but thanks to that late goal I've found out who the quiet guy next door supports.

I couldn’t give a f**k who won, but at least this will keep my arsehole neighbours quiet.

Had the referee actually applied the rules and dished out yellow cards earlier for obvious, cynical and tactical fouls, then both teams couldn't just foul any promising attack (including for the winning goal) because there were no serious consequences for doing so. Instead Walsh bought into the 'integrity of the match' narrative and contributed to it becoming utter dogshit.

And then the frustration at the stop-start nature of the game contributed to a series of bookings being dished out to moron players anyway.
