JS_FFC
Seriously unwell in hospital according to a club statement from Liverpool. I’m sure everyone will join me in hoping that he pulls through. Edited June 9 by JS_FFC

BFTD
Once of Clackmannanshire's few genuinely famous figures. Kinda looked up to him as a Scottish kid growing up in England. Liverpool's defence was very impressive in those days. The BBC mentioned the thing he's probably most known for, the "you can't win anything with kids" line on Match of the Day, and there's a huge amount of "won't somebody please not think of the children?" going on in the comments: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cn00k4gkpz3o

scottsdad
My uncle was at school with him, and played kids football with him. Hope he gets will.
tarapoa
Willie was just joking on the radio yesterday to much hilarity that he hadn’t “bumped into him” for a while - sad to read this so soon after.

Aside from that unfathomable moment, he was an incredible centre half who was probably ahead of his time given the requirements of the role nowadays. Hope the big guy recovers soon.
Grangemouth Bairn
Really sad to hear this.Hopefully he recovers. A Rolls Royce of a defender and years ahead of his time with his ability to play out from the back. Hits harder when it guys you saw playing and 68 is no age even more so when you see how he had clearly looked after himself after football.
Super Staggie
So sad to hear, I bet he wishes two things, 1 never ran into Willie Miller, 2 he had watched Man Utd Kids before that statement. In the meantime time best wishes for him to supporters of his clubs, friends and most importantly his family.
GordonS
Most memorable Hansen commentary for me was when he had a go at David Luiz. He said defenders need to be pessimists, always thinking about what could go wrong, what if we lose the ball here, and Luiz is an optimist. So true. I would prefer him over almost any of the pundits doing the rounds today. Hopefully he makes a full recovery, he's much too young.
BFTD
No mention of what the issue is, from what I've seen, so no idea if this is something sudden or a longer-term thing that he's kept private. I'm guessing it's probably the latter?
kennie makevin
Wish him well. Wonderful player. That he only got 26 caps during the same period that Alex McLeish somehow managed 77 sums up Scottish football and not in a positive way.

Having seen them all play, McLeish and Miller were better than Alan Hansen, as was David Narey. The reason Hansen only got 26 caps is because this was the best choice we'd ever had in defence.

McLeish did well for us

Not the place for this really given it's all about wishing well to Hansen (which I obviously do) but anyone who thinks Alex McLeish didn't deserve the amount of caps he got simply wasn't watching properly. Oh for a Miller and McLeish combination now.......
Sugar_Army
Sad to hear this. Hopefully he will get better but looks unlikely reading the reports. Class player and class pundit.
