BBC going all in on the hyperbole this evening.

The claim:

The 'history' that was made:

The opposition in question:

Not doing Dons down, btw, but calling that 'making history' for a club with Aberdeen's history is mental.

Happy with result as a Well fan we need St J and Ross C to pick up fewer points than us. That simple really. Between those 3 teams (most probably) for bottom 2 spots. United may feature and I hope they do 🤞

Relax. Hibs are in this league.

It's a fact that he's the first AFC manager to win his first five competitive games. So I suppose that means it's a historical fact.

Cliched pap alert 🚨

The 80s must have hurt a lot of other teams fans.

They are obsessed with them.

I guess Hearts almost won something in that decade. A huge achievement for Edinburghs second club

Enjoyed tonight despite the result. Felt like a European night with the big crowd and the summer humidity. 9000+ is an incredible attendance for a Monday night league fixture on tv.

Aberdeen deserved to win and should have scored more. Our defending was woeful and our efforts on goal were wild. Not good enough.

The lad Essel will spend half the season suspended.

Lucky to stay on tonight.

They could have said "Levein makes history" (as first Saints manager to lose the opening fixture 2-1 with a Gambian up front). Every single thing that happened on that pitch tonight is a historical fact, it's terrible journalism to trot out the "makes history" phrase.

You’re trying way too hard there.

What a difference a big crowd at McDiarmid makes. Great atmosphere tonight and we should have been on easy street at half time. We lose an unlucky goal and then give up the pitch for the whole of the nine minutes of added time, far too nervous a finish. Impressed tonight with Mitov, Molloy, Shinnie, Nilsen, Miovski and Jamie McGrath, who I thought was the best player on the pitch. We must get at least one winger in before the deadline, because as everyone knows Morris is not the answer. He’s ok on the ball, but offers zero off of it. The second he loses the ball he just gives up and has no defensive qualities whatsoever. Not convinced at all by Ambrose, and Gueye looked back to his last season self tonight, although he did win every ball he contested in the air. Work to do, but nice to start with three points, and history making Jimmy Thelin.

Currently 130 tickets away from selling every ticket in the home end.

So overall capacity is ~10,600, and the North Stand is 1800, unsure how many you get in the Main Stand but could be about 700?

So aye, it won't be far off 8000 home fans tbf, but that's only if the Ormond actually fills up which is rarely does even when tickets are sold out.

You light be big on player stars but not great with numbers my friend.
9000 crowd, 3000 away fans.

Anyway thought you might have nicked a draw late on as we became a bit edgy and under pressure. The subs weaken our team so much as the bench just isn’t good enough sadly.

Absolutely bang on with everything you say.
To be fair to Scottish football that’s 5 big crowds over the weekend with 4 on live TV. Great to see

Pleased with that. Building blocks are clearly there in what we’re trying to do and at times looked great. That 15-20 mins in the first half up to the point we scored was genuinely exciting.

Still spent too much time under pressure but have no issue with that, and I actually thought we defended pretty well throughout. I thought molloy was very good despite his OG.

Don’t think we learned anything new on squad depth. It isn’t good enough yet and injuries/suspensions at this point will derail us through the season.
