Andre Rieu in concert. Quite enjoyed watching them on YouTube. Was horrific in person.

This is heartbreaking if true as I love the fella. I'd love to take Mater Army to see him in Maastricht. That looks teckle.

Surely ‘posh’ and ‘extravagant’ are not the same thing.

I’ve no desire to do anything posh but I can be extravagant on occasion.

We recently went to the theatre in London.  Cheapest tickets were around £40 each, I paid £150 for each seat as I wanted the best view possible.

Some people might call that extravagant but no one would call it posh.

Look up the word “posh” in the Oxford dictionary of English

Quote

Posh, adj. & n.

Smart, stylish, splendid; luxurious.

So aye, Granny Danger's posh theatre seats.

Once I set a €20 note alight because I was quite well off at the time and wanted show how little I valued money. Meant to be noble, looked like a hooray Henry.

Oh aye, I did it in a restaurant in Montmartre, which adds extra posh points.

I have been radicalised by this post.

I've been on some decently extravagant holidays (such a Sint Maarten) but I struggle to consider that to be "posh" the way I think of it as a Canadian.  I think of the word "posh" as something that would be associated with like Downton abbey esque upper class types.

Going by my definiton of posh, the most posh thing I have done is go to high tea at the Chateau Laurier here in Ottawa with the missus.
