Adverts about the Highway Code on the radio that end by saying "applies to Great Britain only" or words to that effect. Why not just say "doesn't apply to Northern Ireland".

Does it apply to the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands?

Nobody cares what year your child is starting at school, stop posting it on every form of social media.

That is one of the many reasons I deleted Facebook in 2017.

Sorry, I don't want to see a picture of all 5 of your children from every day of their lives, including from about 4 seconds after they've been born and your cunt is still like a Hippo's yawn.

I think it's more to do with the fact it's just a pointless statement at the end of the advert. Don't tell people not to write off cyclists then say "but this only really matters here".

Plus it's that 'comedian' lassie with a really grating voice.

I get it that it's maybe pointless but why is Soapy's suggestion any better?

I agree with you.  It's an advert, saying NOT is a negitive.  Better just saying where it available.

If we went with Soapy's wording it would mean it applies to you and me over here in the arse end of the world as well i.e. everywhere but NI.

No they have their own versions to.

So the advert would have to say applies to GB, Isles of Anglesey, Scottish Islands, Scilly & Wight. If you wanted to be a pedant.

Probably just easier to say GB and hope folk know what GB does and doesn't apply to.

Also, how are you getting that past the swear filter?

Oldest trick in the book, son.  One of the mods can let you in on it.

The variant I heard one night in a pub in Kirkcaldy years ago was something like "Sh'a hoor, your F....ny's like a wizard's sleeve!"

See Kirkcaldy? Pure culture.

That's no way to talk to your mother.

Four pints of T, £5.50 each, I paid £22.44 at the bar.

They provide no service at all.

Just another way to fleece us mugs!

That would have got me 44 pints when I started drinking...

The amount of people who are suddenly massive fans of the Lionesses and women’s football, as soon as they look like winning something.

You know none of them have ever been allowed near a woman’s football match in their lives.

You learn something new every day. When I've heard folk saying Kirkcaldy is full of massive bellends I took it they just meant Fifers.
