Mr. Brightside
We got completely and utterly shafted off the Blackhawks yesterday. 7-1
Savage Henry
Joe Thornton, Dany Heatley combined for seven points in a 6-3 blow out of the Flyers. Thornton leads the NHL in assists and Heatley leads the NHL in goals scored. Good times if you like attacking ice hockey in the Bay Area.
The_Belgian
What a win for the Leafs tonight, top vs bottom of the Eastern Conference and we've defeated Washington in a shootout. Leafs fully deserved the 2 points, they dominated the game. Ovechkin had the Caps up 1-0 at the end of the first, Niklas Hagman equalized in the 2nd. No goals in the third so it went to OT at 1-1, again no goals. Kessel and Hagman scored in the shootout to give the Leafs a much needed and deserved win. Best players had to be both netminders. Varmalov saved 38 shots in the Caps goal and had an outstanding game, while Vesa Toskala also had an excellent game with 31 saves. A much needed confidence booster for Vesa as he's came under a lot of criticism lately. Brilliant win, Go Leafs Go!

kyle*
You're probably right, but we should give you a game. (LUCKY BASTARD!) Close game, but poorly played. Anaheim were terrible defensively, but Giguere was absolutely fantastic tonight. A shame to give Calgary a point, but at least the Ducks take two. Also, Iginla is a twat. Go Ducks! How good would it have been if Glencross could have finished after his mazy skate through many Ducks. All Ducks players are twats! The_Belgian
Just realized the Leafs played NY Islanders on Monday. Lost 4-3 in overtime after making a good comeback. By the looks of it, Roloson had an outstanding game for the Islanders. We fell apart in a four minute spell in the 2nd period, as NY scored three goals from 11.04 to 14.17. Phil Kessel hit one back a minute later. Wayne Primeau and Niklas Hagman scored in the 3rd period to make it 3-3. Into OT, NYI scored 43 seconds left of OT for the win. Yet again a failure to take our chances - shots were 61-21. Well done to Roloson, while we pulled Toskala after the sudden collapse. Now on a two game road trip to Florida as we play Tampa Bay Lightning tonight, and the Panthers on Friday. Gustavsson back in net again. We aren't playing that badly, the only problem is the finishing.
The_Belgian
The Leafs picked up more points last night after a 4-3 win in Tampa. Nikolai Kulemin and Niklas Hagman gave the Leafs a 2-0 lead after 12 minutes, just for Tampa to score twice three minutes later. Into the 2nd period Hagman netted his second, Tampa equalized, before Matt Stajan scored with less than two minutes left of the period. The Leafs held on in the 3rd for the win. Hagman is getting his season back on track after struggling for a while, 11 goals this season now. Carl Gunnarson had a good game, three assists. We outshot Tampa 35-31, finally made more use of our chances unlike Monday. That's us two points above Carolina

RWB
Devils have been battering on despite the fairly high number of long term injuries to top line players. Clarkson is the latest to get the seemingly standard 4-6 weeks lay off. Lowell Devils have been well used this season! Despite this, I've just watched Devils thump the Islanders 6-1. Had seen the Islanders yesterday giving the Penguins a hard game in the 3rd period to win so wasn't sure how this one would go. Three goals in 2 minutes (and 2 seconds) did the damage when it was a typically tight 2-1 lead in the 3rd period. They did look likely to win but a 5v3 pp got the crucial 3rd and the Islanders just caved in under the shots (42, which is high for the Devils). Elias got two plus two assists so again showing how important he will be. 6 home wins in a row so starting to match the away form and keeping the goals against pretty low. Only one away trip in the next nine games so might help to keep the momentum going.
The_Belgian
Leafs won away at the Panthers last night 6-4. After three minutes we were already down 2-0, but Phil Kessel made it 2-1 before the end of the period. Into the 2nd period Niklas Hagman made it 2-2, Florida scored again, but Alexei Ponikarovsky made it 3-3. Florida scored their 2nd PP of the game in the 3rd period to go up 4-3, just for Phil Kessel to score his 2nd 13 seconds later. Hagman netted his 2nd for 5-4 with 7 minutes left, and four seconds from time Matt Stajan scored an empty netter on the powerplay. Another good win for the Leafs, who sit in 14th in the Eastern right now above Carolina, and five points behind the Panthers.
Mr. Brightside
Flames beat CBJ 4-3 after a shoot-out. McElhinney must have had a target on his chest tonight because everyone kept taking him out. Not too bad a win actually, coming from 3-1 down, to draw level, and should have won it in in regular time and Giordano had a great chance in OT to win it, but overall, a pleasing result which takes us third in the WC with three games in hand over SJS and level with the Blackahawks, also take us top of our division.

Zanetti
I feel like I've been neglecting this thread recently... 8-3 win last night at home against the Rangers, nice win. Sid got a hat-trick on a night when the fans were given free hats when entering the bulding - good timing. Seven wins in a row at home against NYR, they can't take anything at Mellon Arena. Next up is the Rangers at their place tomorrow night.
Brierie Bud
Decided to put all the teams in a hat and picked one out to support. The team I picked out at random is.........The New York Islanders Oh well, seen them a few times this season, saw them beat the Bruins 4-1 away probably the best of what I saw. Matt Moulson has looked good this season with 11 goals so far. The last game looked a bit of a shocker, 6-1 defeat to the Devils. The next four games are on the road - Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia and Toronto definately a few tough games in there. Bottom of the Atlantic division at the moment, but with the same points as the Flyers and the Rangers - still a lot to play for. 11th in the Eastern conference and 22th in the overall NHL standings. Will see if I can catch the Thrashers match on Thursday night online, or may make do with highlights. Come on you Islanders!

The_Belgian
The Leafs are up against Buffalo tonight. Gustavsson in net as Toskala is still injured, but Mike Komisarek is back from his injury. Second of six meetings this season, the Sabres winning the first 3-2 after OT in Buffalo last month.
