Knowing England they'll be all out for 265 and will toil badly in the field. I wouldn't be surprised to see Monty get zero turn and then watch on as Gayle batters him all over the ground.

Boycs and Aggers were not very complimentary on TMS yesterday about Monty.

Could it possibly be that he's a one wicket pony?

He doesn't have enough variety in his deliveries. He was successful when he first appeared on the scene but since then he's been worked out and he looks like he could bowl all day without troubling the batsmen.

He'll probably go and get himself a five wicket haul today

The 'referals' system isn't doing them any favours either.

Well, the only wicket they have got came from it I suppose.

The bowling is shocking. Harmison needs binned, Panesar is ineffective even on a turning pitch, Broad is basically a number 4 bowler at best and Flintoff cant rip through a side.

Can't see where they go from here before the summer.

Can't agree that was one of Pietersen's best innings, for once it was more luck than judgement that he was England's highest scorer - Benn beat his outside egde time and again.

As for Monty - his Test record is repectable but it you can't disguise his lack of progress, there's still no variation and no sign that he's ever going to have the nous to make a proper cricketer. The hope is (and has been for a year or two) that Rashid will blossom into a Test quality bowler, but he isn't yet.

Does he average double figures? I've never seen him score more than 13.

Think he averages about 22. He's not got a first class 100 anyway. Put into the team too soon as the next big thing and yet to show anything resembling international class.

Cue 2nd-innings 143*

What a waste of a referral- there's no way a 3rd umpire can overturn one where he's padded up outside off stump and is hit on the front pad.

England now have no referrals left for this innings- they'll just have to make sure they get them out properly now

edit: like that.

Glad to see Windies edging into a 34 run lead with 3 wickets left at the end of Day 3! :)

Why?

I actually thought England bowled really well today, if they can get the West Indies out for less than 400, it's going to be a cracking game.
