Almost summer Down Under what with putting the clocks forward this weekend for most of us and the domestic cricket season starts with the 50 over Matador Cup. This year games will be played in Perth, Brisbane and Sydney. 'Lost the right to stage test cricket.' Bad news for Scottish cricket fans.



But very good news for those in Southampton. Shame really, as 1. Bidding for test matches helped put them in the red, and 2. It's a lovely wee ground if the weather's nice.

Doesn't bode well for Scotland's chances of qualifying for the next World Cup though with only ten entrants.

What was the reasoning behind reducing the number of teams?  I get that the last one went on for ten weeks or something daft, but it seems counterproductive.
