Distant Doonhamer
Played in our Wednesday sweep yesterday. Very nice start of bogey, par, par, par. Hit a great drive on par 4 5th. Had 80 yards to the pin for my 2nd. Pushed it right, absolutely plugged in the bunker, 3 shots to get out and thus out of nowhere 6 shots to get down from 80 yards and a triple bogey 7. Played reasonably steadily after that and ended up with a nett 75. Bloody golf. Edited April 25 by Distant Doonhamer

They are off at 1857 our time and early coverage is on now and nobody really burning it up so hopefully still up there after today
funky_nomad
72 holes coming up over the next 3 days - Ladybank & Tulliallan tomorrow, Drumoig on Sunday and Piperdam on Monday. I'm going to be a gibbering mess on Tuesday, in all probability.
peasy23
Got an email from the golf club today to say that from May 11th the first tee time on a Saturday will be 6.58 instead of 7.30. Opens up an extra 12 places, it was 7.30 before as they aren't allowed to cut the greens in the parts of the course closest to the residential areas, so that includes the 1st, 2nd and 3rd holes. They've bought a couple of electric mowers which are well below the sound limits so they can have all the greens ready for play earlier.
peasy23
Bob and Tam even thru 16 holes, Bob misses the 17th green by miles but Tam holes the second for birdie. Moves them to 11 under just 2 off the lead. Edited April 26 by peasy23

Gutter, Detry miles past with the first effort, but that was exactly the sort of distance Bob doesn't hole enough of imo. Shuffles and Cuntlay having a nightmare up the last.

Distant Doonhamer
Detry and MacIntyre right in the mix. Russell Knox and Malnati right on the cut line (top 33 and ties) and only 5 shots off the lead. Hopefully make it through. Edited April 26 by Distant Doonhamer

I watched half an hour of the early coverage and what felt like 15 mins of it was Cantplay standing around for a ruling on the fringe for no apparent reason then once he got it, walking slowly around the green to check his line. He and partner then three putted. Magical stuff. Bob and Detry well placed (it looked windy). Anyone know if winning this would get them an exemption for next year? The nature of the event makes me think not, but can't find any info. McIlroy and Lowry must be strong favourites anyway.

Not sure about exemptions, but it's a full quota of FedEx points.

Yeah they get full pga tour card for next 2 years Here is a full list of what a win will get for each player Each member of the winning team in New Orleans earns more than mere cash: fully exempt status through 2026, 400 FedEx Cup points, spots in the upcoming PGA Championship, Charles Schwab Challenge and Memorial Tournament, plus entry to the 2025 Sentry Tournament and Players Championship. It’s a heck of a return for only hitting half of the shots in half of the rounds. Edited April 27 by doulikefish
doulikefish
Knoxy off at 1353 and boab at 1610 our time Be interesting how Rory/Lowry get on today as they are in the last group with Rai/Kurt ..Rai is a really "deliberate" player ( slow as) and Rory especially in the past gets frustrated when playing with slow players and tends to make mistakes Basically I'm trying to think of a way Tam and Boab come steaming through to take a 10 shot lead going into Sunday

peasy23
Make that 11 under thru 14 and onto -22 for Blair/Fishburn.
