Say what you like about how boring Scheffler is, but he really knows how to keep his foot on the throat of the rest of the field.

Which is somewhat ironic when you consider his fancy dance steps at the point of impact.

He rarely gets himself in really bad positions, something McIlroy should have paid attention to when playing with him the first two days.

Although Aberg is going to come up just short, this is a superb showing for his first ever major, especially at Augusta.

He's -4 for the day, which would be the equal second best round of the day. If Aberg gets up and down, he'll finish second on the score Scottie started the day on.

You can say he's boring, but he has also just gone out and won it.

The tendency I've noticed is to compare Scheffler with Tiger at every opportunity due to his dominance, but his ball control and demeanour remind me of Nicklaus in the 70's. He's that damn good at the moment.

Went to bed when Scheffler hit the 13th green as that was clearly it. He's too conservative to lose a 3 shot lead from there. We have a lot more of this grindingly dull brilliance backed up by The Lord to look forward to.

Very disappointing that the final round unravelled so fast in terms of competition. I really thought at least one of Homa, Morikawa or Aberg was going to surprise us and push him all the way (and keep pressure on his putting). Two of them in the pond at 11 with Collin already having doubled 9 then Max in the shrubbery on 12, goodnight Vienna with 6 holes left. It's not often you see leaders dunk it on 11 either as there's no way you should be anywhere near it. Ah well.

Well the door opened and nobody walked through it and Scottie just went into overdrive.Aberg was tremendous let's hope he doesn't change and big shout out to Vijay and Ole both level par rounds on Sunday

Forgot to mention probably the happiest person will be the local caddie Tommy Fleetwood used when he sees his share of the just over a million bucks that Tommy won

Fair play to Scheffler, his caddy, and his management team of Lord Jesus God Almighty Inc. I went to bed the moment those players in with a shout all started shitting the bed and racking up double bogeys. The gemme’ was over right there. Annoying, as it was NOT a Scheffler waltz to victory right up until that point. Until then, Scheffler had been up and down himself with a mixture of birdies and bogeys. He was able to relax and pretty much stroll it after the opposition disappeared like snow off a dyke. Scheffler should join LIV and they’ll create a new team for him. God’s Godzillas or something, given the utter fcuking shite they already come up with. Kiss the badge Scottie, kiss the badge.

Anyway, I’ve bigger fish to fry… Kirky seniors singles tie on Thursday. Dig out my LIV polo shirt and hat - The Kirky Kunts. The only team I’ve ever wanted to play for. Go Kunts!

Hopefully things dry out a bit for you, otherwise you might be better joining the Kirky Kayaks.

So true. Course is closed due to flooding this morning. I’ve played 9 holes in the last three weeks. No opportunity to play this week either, until the tie on Thursday. Will have to rack up, strap the clubs onto the trolley, go out and give it a go. Try not to play like an utter idiot.

Aye, the usual complaint from greenkeepers in April is that it's too dry and cold to get decent growth in the turf (which really needs a ground temperature of at least 7 or 8 degrees to get going properly) but at least with cold/dry Aprils they can get out and prep everything ready for when they can get the cutters down, so this April has really set everyone back, and I dread to think the last time the majority of courses managed to get their fairways cut this year.

I've been saying for years that golf clubs need to get out of the mindset of playing competition golf in late May/early April, instead extending the season into end October/beginning November, as at least most (parkland) courses generally aren't suffering from a high water table later in the season as opposed to after a wet winter.

I remember the 2021 start to the season as f**k all would grow because it had been so dry. Our staff have been able to get out with the smaller machines and cut greens to 5mm, tees to 11mm, and do some other bits and pieces, but it's far too soft to get the big stuff on course. The fairways were all cut an aerated a fortnight ago so they are not too bad.
