If the 4 South African sides will remain part of the pro14 set up beyond that tournament. Idea is this a pre-curser to the Pro16, all not agreed yet on Pro16 details still being worked on but hoped to be in place to start Aug/Sep

Ireland will definitely get away with all their usual pish and there will be no such thing as offside at the ruck. Woopee.
GordonS
I'm hoping the South African thing works out, but this might be terrible timing. They have a new variant Covid too and it doesn't look like fun. Recent arrivals to the UK from South Africa are being asked to self-isolate for 14 days.
East Coast Warrior
I don't like the direction they are going with the Pro League expansion. They've absolutely shat over the Cheetahs as well. I do get they need to chase some sort of money though. For proof of that see Glasgow finding it impo$$ible to keep the fly-half from joining fucking Gloucester! There is also nothing to stop the SRU doing the same to Glasgow or Edinburgh
honestly united
They would have been better keeping the Cheetahs, and looking for another team (ie a franchise in Spain, Georgia or Russia), you could then have 3 pools of 6, play everyone in your pool twice, then everyone else once for 22 games. If you put all the SA teams in one pool would have saved on a load of travel
Mark Connolly
Will be interesting to see how they structure the competition long term. I like the idea of a mini- tour to South Africa ie play the away games there back to back, and ideally have the two Scottish teams over there at the same time. As for Glasgow stopping players joining English clubs, it’s the same as football, there simply isn’t the money here to do it. Glasgow and Edinburgh both have great, long term sponsors on board, but none of them can provide the financial backing the English clubs get, and there are no potential sugar daddies either, especially given the SRU will still want control.
