  1. ..they seem pretty insistent that there might actually be some snow hitting over the next few days...even more than normal. Even Judith was getting pretty concerned on the beeb earlier on. Might get a snow day yet and use the feckin shovel I bought the last time it was bad...in 2010!
  2. Can't believe I forgot about Grandstand....a clip came on the tv the other day and it just took me right back to sitting in my Grans having lunch and hearing the announcer say 'it's 12.15, it's Saturday...it's Grandstand'...and then the 'boom boom' at the start of the theme kicking in. Great theme, some awful sports covered though :-)
  3. Can't embed vids from my work but so many of my faves already posted. One's I'm surprised not to see so far are Magnum PI, Dempsey and Makepeace and my all time favourite, Battle of the Planets! ...edited to add, honourable mention to Tales of the Gold Monkey, Automan and Street Hawk also.
  4. Must be about 2010 when my eldest was born, can remember the in laws coming to visit and not being able to get home! Despite that I love the snow, would like to see a good fall in Edinburgh and although the beeb (and others) saying it was going to be bad I've seen nowt other than the flurry this morning - even their website shows it all moving out till the afternoon.
  5. The Football Ramble is the one constant listen for me. Constantly funny - the tales of Pete Donaldson antics (and his dad's if you listen to the Pete and Luke Show spin off) are tremendous. Genuinely just guys chatting about the game. I think the fact that they seem to be 'normal' fans as opposed to setting themselves up as experts helps greatly and Marcus's stories from his time in Scotland are pretty decent. I download the Football Weekly (don't mind Max Rushden at all) and also the Totally Football and Totally Football League show which is pretty decent. The new Euro Leagues one from the BBC is pretty good as well
  6. ...on a tangent, i love that film! Bridge closure is a nightmare. Luckily i live and work in Edinburgh so not too much hassle for me but a load of folk i work with are raging...they're either going to be coming in late or stupidly early and probably having as much hassle getting home. Hopefully the traffic 'solution' will make things easier for anyone who has to travel
  7. Super Hans is just genius, looking forward to the rest of this series now!
  8. Has it been announced when Whyte, Green, Duff n Phelps an the rest of the cast are in court again? I thought i read it was this year?
  9. I'd have gone for The Running Man as well, the story in the book is excellent but as was said they'd need to change the ending. Other than that any film thats been made of War of the Worlds hasn't been even close to the book. If they could remake it set in Victorian times, around London like the book then i think it could be great. Watching the remakes where there's technology available to the people takes away from the storyline of the book..
  10. By who? The SFA? Given how useful they've been so far i imagine they'll report back sometime in 2016...
  11. If thats even close to being true it says it all. It will be the administrators job to cull the playing staff but I wonder if they would maybe keep Gallacher but release Hrivnik and the goalkeeping coach? I know the admin is to work to get the costs down but is it possible some players like Gallacher may accept reduced terms till the end of the season given that he's local and also not likely to get another team at this stage. The other players that would be released would most likely find something else but it must be particularly difficult for keepers. I actually wonder how difficult it would be for the admin to make significant cost savings quickly. As ScottyC has said maybe five or six players are probably 'high earners', the rest probably not so much but the savings behind the scenes could also be huge (Mastertons daughters, Yorkston etc). I feel for all the players but especially the likes of Geggan who only just went full time, they deserved better or at the very least to be treated with openness and respect.
  12. Highly unlikely. Also, Dundee had an amazing run having been docked 25 points to even keep them in the league initially. They only got promotion last year because of Rangers, if they hadnt got up the may still be there. We do have a decent u20s team and i imagine we'll follow Falkirk and Hamiltons example of using mostly youth and a couple of experienced guys.
  13. IF we get through today theres no hiding from the fact that we may survive but it will have an impact on a lot of other businesses. Theres no-one else to blame, its a situation generated by the club and specifically by Masterton and the board. Like others i'd like to see an investigation into Masterton as we've consistantly been told that the wages to turnover ratio was falling yet no reduction in debt was seen, additionallly the web of companies and links to stadia group and Murray also need looked at. No matter what happens to us the one thing i'd like to see is more questioning of owners no only by the fans but also the SFA. Theres no way clubs should be able to run as long as we have been with huge debt....
  14. If it was over 4k i'd be amazed. It was also the coldest game i think i've ever been at. BTW, the second for Dumbarton was a topper
  15. lol. A good crowd today would be fantastic to try and get the staff and players their overdue wages but i dont think it will have a bearing on the decision Masterton has to make, it would be a great boost to try and get the cash to pay the HMRC as it might buy some extra time. On the whole the support we have received from other fans has been tremendous and the fact that it appears a high number will also pop along today is amazing. I'm truely thankful to anyone who has helped
  16. To be honest i've no idea what TPC want having read that tonight, its actually lke they want liquidation but time will show whats been going on. As regards finishing the seasn i'd have said 50/50 before tonight...now its probably 25/75 against...
  17. Been reading the tweets from tonights meeting and it would appear that Masterton has offered to transfer his shares and also DAFC get EEP but it was rejected.....can only assume no debt would be wiped out?
  18. The sad thing is, i'm not sure they are learning. Its hope against hope now but i'll keep believing that some agreement can be made to ge Masterton out. It staggers belief that he's buggered off to Switzerland when all this is happening.
  19. Its obviously a move to try and get GM out of sight, get some 'names' on board and grab some cash to try and get to the end of the season. As others have said, the only way that we can move forward in any capacity is to get the club out of the Charleston Group. I'll wait and see what comes from the press conference but they better have a good underwriter for the shares if it goes ahead as i cant see many Pars fans taking them up at this time.
  20. No snow in Edinburgh that i've seen, very much doubt we'll see any either. Despite having weather warnings in place i've yet to see the BBC and Met Office agree on whats going...
  21. Watched Rock of Ages last night and it was better than i thought it would be. Tom Cruise was pretty good in it but his pet monkey 'Hey Man' was tremendous. Felt a bit long though, but given that I expected worse...6.5/10
  22. I'm on holiday just now and its difficult to actually get a clear picture on whats actually happenning as everyone is at each other. I know there are money problems and the trust have started to mobilise and thres also some other things on the go. The problem i have is that people are asking questions but we're either getting brushed off or not getting the full truth....if the club needs money now then they need to say...unless its too late for the supporters. The Dumbarton game cant come soon enough...as long as all the people who say they'll go will actually get along...
  23. Just read that Leggo blog, does he actually believe what he writes? That guy needs some serious help...
  24. I predict another Craigy boy 'exclusive' on Wednesday...the 31st....just as D&P are heading to the Court of Session....
