  1. To avoid being murdered by their offspring...
  2. It's her final para that I find telling... PA is going into the civil case looking like a slimeball with one tactic - to smear Giuffre - which if it works will leave him looking even more of a slimeball. His only hope is that it's Uh-merica and that his legal team can reconvene the jury that freed OJ....
  3. It seems strange to me too that any civil settlement would include a "don't sue my mates" clause but that's what's being alleged and staying down the rabbit hole there are bigger fish (outside normal island) than PA concerned. Hope that helps your mate. ********************* Even on normal island PA isn't the only one to have worries over their involvement with Epstein as today's resignation of Barclay's CEO Jes Staley shows... 4. 4/4 victories that season sorry to remind you , but even better than the above game was coming back to win 2-1 at Starks after you had taken the lead with 5 mins to go. As I've said elsewhere that's my all-time favourite season by a mile, you had a player sent off the afternoon of the 1-2 game one of the 12 (yes twelve) players sent off against us that season.
  5. The 7-0 opening day defeat at your place is a particular lowlight in my Saints memories although I feel we evened the score in 99/00.
  6. Class managerial decisions from us - don't even want to remember the non-entities we replaced them with!
  7. I'm submitting six! 99/00 - "The Bubble didnae burst" - Clear winner, a totally unfancied team that was continually predicted to be about to blow up and finish below much fancied/well financed Dunfermline. We won the division quite easily in the end. Favourite games the two away victories in Kircaldy, the run of nail biting wins in April 2000 (esp Airdrie (a) & Falkirk (h)) and the final game away in Sneck where we lost 5-0 and didn't care. 86/87 - Won the Scottish cup with a team a deal poorer than our early 80s ones pretty much out of the blue - a tale of two Ian Fergusons (sic). 2017/18 - After the great escape of the previous season (a contender in itself maybe?) we painted our wagons and eventually won at a canter after beating Dundee Utd. between Xmas & New Year (thanx for that pen Paul McMullan) - loved the angst from Morton fans over whether to give us a guard of honour at GHR and their total absence from that game. 2005/06 - After a coupla last minute signings on August D-Day (Charlie Adam & John Sutton) it was a fairly trouble free season with the Challenge Cup thrown in - highlight probably the 4 wins against Clyde & Graham Roberts' escalating breakdown, although again winning against a more fancied Fakes team was pleasing. 2012/13 - League Cup win against a depleted Hearts team which we conspired to make more difficult than it had to be. How a squad containing McGinn, McLean, Thompson, Teale, McGowan, Carey, Goodwin, Dummett & Newton & others - plenty of decent top flight players & a few outstanding ones conspired to finish 11th is still a mystery to me. 76/77 - Fergies Furies - first season attending games with my mates & a great team to follow - nuff said!
  8. A lot of the, erm, great and good turned up at Epstein's parties including two ex-POTUS's (Clinton & Trump) there was speculation that the relative lenience of Epstein's original criminal sentence was due to this. Epstein subsequently settled a number of civil cases, I might be cynical but the supposed exemption of royalty (& others?) from any further civil action was probably connected to this.
  9. I'm sure you're correct, just saying that it's "no holds barred" now...
  10. There's no implication he (PA) knew this back in the day but his new legal team seem to have taken the view that "the best form of defence is attack" and are dredging through Ms. Guiffre's backstory looking for mud to sling back. Any hope the Windsor's (sic) had of the case fading away quietly seem to be receding.
  11. When we (me & my sister) organized my mother's I would've been happy to avoid church involvement but my sister wanted it and I reckon my aunties would've been scandalized but going onto my generation only my sis & one cousin attend mass regularly AFAIK so I can see it all becoming a lot less formal. On the misnaming front it happened at my Uncle Tommy's funeral so maybe it's not that uncommon. For myself I'd kinda like a sky burial with Should I Stay or Should I Go played very loud...
  12. Lenny Henry - sign of my age but I remember when he broke through on New Faces with a routine that was pretty similar to fellow winner Jim Davidson, I also remember when Billy Connolly was a Partick Thistle fan. Oh and was Dawn French ever funny?
  13. The guys who are cleaning up their online accounts and checking their blazer size even as I type.
  14. I don't know if it's Lovejoyism more of an attempt to Muddy the Waters and say it's a general problem and we're no worse than any other team. Have to agree with @gc_smfc above it's inevitable these days that ill advised on-line comments will come back to bite you, and in this case the club, on the arse.
  15. Radio commentator doesn't know much about Saints scorer Connor Ronan - what a surprise.
  16. Are Queens worse up front than you would expect for Championship longtermers or might you have been spoiled by having Dobbie for years?
  17. Losing games like this which at times must've seemed winnable are the hallmark of teams that end up being relegated - nothing personal but keep up the good work Malky!
  18. Yup, when I saw Mehmet in tears after the game I felt like joining in. Shuggie's substitution that day was prob'ly the right move by MacPherson as he was already booked and the Rangers players were winding him up but I still feel we'd not have conceded that goal with him on. Still blame Potter for the goal he had to make a challenge on Naismith, 9 men and from when Weir intercepted Dargo's dummy we never got within 2 yards of the ball and they had Miller and Novo essentially free in the box. Still I've had plenty of medication and therapy since then and have been able to put those 17 seconds behind me, especially after the contribution we made to Rangers demise in 2012.
  19. A tale of two finals... Just started reading Places in the Darkness by Christopher Brookmyre and on page 1 we're introduced to two characters Mehmet (2010) and Gonçalves (2013).
  20. Yup, not celebating a goal is one of these new things that an old fogey like me doesn't like although I do remember Denis Law doing similar back in the 70s when he scored for City against United the day they (United) were relegated, so maybe it's not that new.
  21. PRINCE Andrew is set to argue the sexual abuse case against him is invalid as his accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre made a settlement with paedo financier Jeffrey Epstein referencing "royalty", it was claimed today. Translates as "My mate's already paid the fine"
  22. It's the old get your lie in first cos far fewer people will notice the correction - it would've been embarrassing if he'd been called out on the show but he probably considers it a success.
