  1. I thought Virtanen did OK in both positions. Not sure I'd be comfortable with him starting at RB against Miller (or Morrison) next week, but maybe we'll have to go with that. Or could Kev stand in?
  2. Sammo's goal and the players celebrating with the fans a special moment. Enjoyable commentary, but did @KierenAAFC say Shittal at one point?
  3. It was the right call. Sammo occupied their centre backs well and won a decent number of headers, which is what we needed from our centre forward today. And of course he scored a very good goal.
  4. Indeed. Let's hope they are both OK. I felt Stevie going off swung the game in 'Well's favour, he'd had an excellent first half. We didn't keep the ball as well when he went off and, of course, we lost that ball winning ability. I felt everyone did their job today and, first half especially, it was a good team performance, but special mention to several players; PJ for his penalty save, a couple of other very good stops and coming for then catching the right balls, Morgyn Neill looked like player I thought we'd signed in the summer, Kurtis Roberts - where does he get that energy., and finally Sammo - big call to start him, but it proved the correct one, he caused their defence problems and took his goal really well. Have to say I really enjoyed the game and the great backing from our fans. Motherwell were OK, but I probably expected more. Three top class finishes from them though.
  5. Some thoughts on Bobby Wales (not particularly original). I completely get @Kevchenko and @KierenAAFC 's exasperation that we might not see Bobby back at the Indodrill. From his first game he's shown glimpses of a high level of talent. Initially it was the odd touch or burst of pace, but Andy G's decision to go with him as lead striker (crucially impacted by other changes) has seen him improve game on game. He seems to have pretty much all the attributes to go on and have a career at a good level. Obviously I don't know what Kilmarnock's plans for Bobby are in the short term, but it seems to me that getting more game time at Alloa would be great for his development. And clearly for us Alloa fans not to be able to observe that development in the second half of the season and maybe have him help us get a play off spot is a major blow. Let's hope He's back before the end of January.
  6. Last time I checked Luke was doing well at the Shire. Hope he continues to develop. I agree he looks a better footballer than Rayan, but someone with the latter's pace and power is always likely to be given a chance at a higher level than might appear apt.
  7. Agreed. I really like Taylor, but he's been mucked about a bit positionally IMO; better more central, but then we've got two or three like that.
  8. PJ, Neill and Hetherington almost always start. Devine is probably first choice too, but regularly misses out through injury. Big Sammon has started on the bench for several weeks now; possibility he may start this one IMO, with Wales back to Kilmarnock as he gives us more physical presence than Ally Roy and that may be the way Andy Graham chooses to go. In fact I'm curious to see whether Andy sticks with his usual line up or tweaks things specifically for Motherwell. He may also see the game as an opportunity to give guys returning from injury some game time (e.g, Robbo, LD).
  9. Thought you'd be keeping your head down re penalties.
  10. You always sound like you're having a whale of a time. Never rated him!
  11. Buchanan out, but Andy G has kept changes to a minimum with Taylor Steven in as, presumably, a straight swap. Good to see LD, Robbo and Debayo all on the bench, plus Scougs also obviously. Disappointed Connelly starts for QotS as he's capable of causing problems.
  12. "Operation Prosperity Guardian."
  13. Can't make the game due to a family commitment. Pity as I like going to Palmerston, perhaps not surprisingly. Wonder if Ally Roy will start? I suspect not if everyone is fit. Our bench could potentially look as strong as it has all season. Hopefully we can keep our recent form going and keep it tight at the back (still a bit of a concern). I'm going one all.
  14. It would be crazy to drop either of those two IMO, they are the heart beat of the team. I'd always start Kev though - it's one of the best things Andy G has done so far, playing him regularly and getting him involved more centrally. Tbh I'd start him over Scougs - his end product is much better. I think it should be pointed out also that Brian Rice was far from the only manager who failed to get the most out of the wee man, although he did indeed take it to extreme lengths.
  15. Just a dip in form, m8. Needing to work harder on the training ground IMO.
  16. Never mind lads, you've got us at Palmerston next Saturday. What could possibly go wrong?
