  1. Good listen, guys. Didn't realise it was Robbo's 500th game, so thanks for pointing that out. Tremendous achievement for a classy footballer.
  2. Indeed. Don't fancy Church at centre back regularly. For all his pace he just isn't a good enough defender IMO. Given today's line up, maybe Rice disagrees.
  3. It was a back three of Taggs, Stanger and Church, with Stanger in the middle. Strachan was left wing back, Cawley on the right. Think we went to more of a back four, Strachan going to left back and Taggs RB, later on, but the game had become so open by then it was hard to tell. We offered very little in attack until King came on and Wee Kev was pushed forward through the middle. Seemed to galvanise us a bit (something we badly needed) and Sammon knicked a goal when clear in front of goal (not sure how that happened and Sammo even seemed to have a miskick before he stuck it away). Scarcely deserved to be level then, but last half an hour was pretty even. McIver's winner was a cracker. Neat build up play and a good cross by Church from the by-line, Ross timing his leap perfectly to head down and into the net. Generally we were pretty poor and second best today, but we kept going and showed determination and belief. Hopefully the win will help the team's confidence.
  4. Agreed, but rumoured to be going to Arbroath. On loan I think.
  5. "Tories". What a sad (and illiterate) wee man you are.
  6. Incredible. What a leg and what a set!
  7. Yep. When we go back three, Vinnie or Big Andy can join in and we can still keep Taggs wide right in the wingback role. I'm quite liking this signing.
  8. Yeah, he and Stanger do sound like they will complement each other. Indeed. I wonder if Howie will be sent out on loan? Manager doesn't appear to rate him.
  9. Indeed, including quoting the relevant paragraph reference in the laws!
  10. Agree with all of these points and, indeed, with most of the points Alloa posters have made. Rankine looks to have a nice touch and good awareness. Not sure what his normal position is, thought he was a striker, but he was pretty much a direct replacement for Cammy, maybe pushed a bit further forwards. Robbo looks off the pace at the moment, maybe he is still carrying a knock, and I thought Miller looked livelier when he replaced him. I actually think a genuine defensive midfielder in there would be a good improvement to the side, someone with pace and strength; maybe that would also allow our more creative midfielders to push on a bit. On a positive note we are still very much in the race for a top four place. Let's see what BR can do in the transfer window.
  11. Agreed re both. Surprised Bunting is only 37yo.
  12. Indeed, I can clearly see why Taggs started in central defence with Andy, Vinnie and Howie on the bench and a returning Stanger starting too. Taggs has been our best centreback this season, in fact IMO he's been our best player by some distance. I don't agree with everything Brian Rice does, but overall I think he has done and is doing a better than average job.
  13. What are you on about? We're top scorers in the league.
  14. Shaw beats van Boening in a nervy match. Europe one win away now. ETA Should have said Europe are "on the hill".
  15. Can't wait for this week's podcast in that case.
