  1. ...and hopefully provoke meltdowns from Si Ferry and Slaney.
  2. Think Franklin D Roosevelt deserves a mention on that as well. Things like the New Deal and the Tennessee Valley Authority were genuinely left of centre:
  3. Ron De Sanctimonious hasn't quite resonated to the same extent that Low Energy Jeb did. They finally got Al Capone for fiddling his taxes rather than any of the big stuff so maybe this is the easier way to take Trump down rather than anything directly linked to his failed Jan 6th coup attempt.
  4. Don Shipley's stolen valour youtube clips used to be good for a laugh. You would have to be monumentally stupid to try to mess with that sort of crowd after all the publicity that received in recent years.
  5. Yes, but the licensing committee would still have to potentially justify why one of those is OK but the other isn't. I seriously doubt Creetown have gone to the expense of enclosing their ground and adding floodlights if entry level licensing isn't high on their agenda. Were Creetown not in the SFA as full members at one point? Think they may have let their membership lapse in a smilar way to Abderdeen Uni at around the same sort of time but can't be bothered googling it.
  6. Golspie Sutherland got in using this: so never say never.
  7. Broomhill could provide a way for a club lower down the pyramid to reach the LL through a "merger". Darvel would be prime suspects for that scenario in a more money than sense sort of way.
  8. Almost 50 years ago now TOTP and Top 40 countdown programmes on Radio One had to pretend the reason people were buying a Jasper Carrot single was because of this: rather than this:
  9. Interesting to see what sort of viewpoints are allowed on Russian state TV at the moment, even if only to then shoot them down in metaphorical terms:
  10. In a John Brogan sort of way. Think people are a bit too fixated on it being Albion Rovers vs Bonnyigg Rose to be Club 42. Elgin City's recent form is dire so they need to be taken into consideration as well.
  11. ...which was the original point I made but some people appear to be desperate for an argument. Only lost one league game so far this season and just won their last game 10-0 but 4 of their last 7 are against teams in the top 5 including three midweek when getting their full squad up from the central belt fresh and ready to go may be more challenging than it is on a Saturday (helps that Brora are the opponent at home for one of these obviously as they could have similar issues). Feel free to nitpick away though.
  12. Wouldn't lose any sleep over comments like that. Think most people on here would acknowledge that there was some overlap in quality between top amateur clubs and the weakest junior ones because some folk prefer to be the big fish in a small pond and win trophies at a lower level than losing more games than they win at a higher one.
  13. Think you'll find they have never formally recognised Crimea as part of Russia.
  14. ^^^just being argumentative for the sake of it.
  15. Rose fans will maybe find out that the LL is tougher than they think if they get promoted:
  16. Avoiding relegation is a lot more important but hopefully winning a cup will help boost the team to achieve that goal.
  17. 2x vs Fraserburgh & home to Brora as midweek fixtures and away to Buckie as the last game of the season still to go. Not necessarily as in the bag as it appears at first glance.
  18. Are Creetown going for a licence this season? They appear to have cover and floodlights in place and the telltale policy documents are on their website: https://creetownfc.co.uk/club-policies/
  19. If Spartans go up and Elgin get relegated I guess this might not be the last time the two clubs play a league fixture. Looking more likely as a scenario after today's win for Bonnyrigg Rose.
  20. Pronouncing j as jye rather than jay was a habit I had to very quickly get out of when in North America but for some reason no matter how hard I try the way I say the vowels never seems to compute with some people there so I have to say a for apple etc.
  21. I assume that's somewhere rural in upstate New York rather than New York City? In Canada, the rural parts of the Ottawa Valley has an accent that sounds vaguely like a posh Ulster one and I have met older people from up the Bruce peninsula in southern Ontario that sounded like they were from the West Highlands but definitely weren't. In the cities though there's a generic Canadian accent that very much dominates.
