  1. A third team can be promoted if Lithgae are promoted and no club is relegated to the EoS from the LL, which is looking quite likely right now. What would stop that scenario from unfolding would be if Brechin go up to the SPFL and either Albion Rovers or Bonnyrigg Rose are relegated to the LL because that would mean that Edinburgh Uni are relegated to the EoS premier to keep the number of non-B teams at 16.
  2. The level of embarrasment of having a Ukrainian drone almost knock the flag off the top of the Kremlin should not be underestimated. This has usually been the main symbol of Russian/Soviet state power down through the centuries:
  3. It's absolutely epic that they managed to bounce a drone off the Kremlin's roof. Not buying the denials for a minute as this will be about getting them to cancel their big Victory Day parade in Red Square. The last time I was in Moscow a Ukrainian I know with Russian citizenship took me to a Ukrainian restaurant that was only a few hundred yards from where this happened. Sad what Vlad has done to Russia because there was a time not so long ago that this war would have been completely unthinkable, particularly for the older generation that grew up under Brezhnev in what in my experience they still tend to view as being a better time:
  4. Follow is too strong but Blantyre Vics is the first scoreline I look for.
  5. The narration track of his history documentaries used to be something along the lines of "....Britain...Britain...our land... Britain...Britain..." then rinse and repeat. Every bit as nationalist in his mindset as the SNP supporters he berates, just fixated by a different piece of coloured cloth. Not sure how accurate this was: but this may not be entirely coincidental:
  6. Great forward planning on the placement of that floodlights pylon and they still haven't figured out that you need to raise the stand to give seated spectators a decent sight line especially if one of the dugouts is in the way.
  7. They almost certainly won't be going with the same team in an EoS context so at that point it's the quality of their facilities that is the determining factor. This looks like it could wind up being Steelend Vics without a town like Dunfermline relatively close by to draw players from but hopefully it works out OK for them.
  8. It's still very unlikely but Lochee have made more of an issue out of this than was likely expected a few weeks back. Is there anything in the rules about the playoffs having to happen by a certain date? Right now there theoretically could have been a round-robin unfolding between the NCL, north region, and east region champions so it's not completely unreasonable to keep the HL bottom club waiting until mid-May.
  9. ...if the Conference kicks in. Still to be voted on and I find it hard to believe that plan has universal approval. Worth noting also that the successes for Club 42 are skewed towards the first few seasons involved. More recently they have tended to lose.
  10. Abbey Vale appear to have the easier run in (Creetown still have to play Lochar Thistle) as well as a huge goal difference advantage of +21 so there's a good chance that won't be necessary.
  11. ...and Edinburgh Uni might still be as well if Brechin go up and either Albion Rovers or Bonnyrigg Rose get relegated..
  12. Which is what they are counting on people who are opposed doing so they can this through. Enough of a fuss directed at L1, L2 and non-league senior clubs between now and the SFA AGM and you never know...
  13. There isn't going to be a vote in an SPFL context but there will be one at the SFA AGM where there are a lot of non-SPFL votes available to also oppose this.
  14. Looks like the derby game is back next season:
  15. Hope fans of League Two clubs will get behind the No To B Teams campaign by contacting their club and urging them to vote against the new National Conference at the SFA AGM: You are now only one bad season away from a division in which 16 out of 36 league games played would be against colts teams, if this doesn't get reversed.
  16. The more I think about it the more I suspect that the review of licensing requirements by the SFA and the SPFL working on new entry requirements is the implicit threat that's being dangled over the heads of the HL and LL clubs to get this through.
  17. 1 Holidays in the Sun - Sex Pistols 2 Alternative Ulster - SLF 3 Looking through Gary Gilmore's eyes - The Adverts 4 Killing an Arab - The Cure 5 Babylon's Burning - The Ruts ...if only one per group allowed other Sex Pistols songs and Johnny Was by SLF would have been more than sufficient otherwise.
  18. Begs the question how many LL clubs are configured like Bo'ness United with a membership and a club AGM in a junior football sort of way where a decision like this has to be justified to as least some of the fans. Think some of the old nonleague seniors are constituted that sort of way as well. There is a danger of throwing the towel in on this one if people become fatalistic about it even though there may still be a chance to head this off at the pass, if it still needs to make it through both HL and LL AGMs as well as the SFA one.
  19. Can anyone clarify if Club 42 would still go into a playoff with the Conference champion or would it be automatic pro/rel at this point? Haven't seen that explicitly spelled out anywhere. From 2024-25 onwards, would the HL and LL have any veto on the format of what happens on pro/rel between this Conference and the SPFL, or are they just blindly trusting that if/when they sign off on this to change the Club 42 playoff rules that the trapdoor won't be bolted shut again?
  20. On the small side for that sort of range I would have thought: if both the fuel and explosives need to be packed into it? But still, no doubt a good way to wind up the Russians, where the safety of their naval vessels in Sevastopol and Novorossiysk are concerned regardless.
  21. Interesting snippet from the WoS subforum given a WoS officeholder posted it:
