  1. The WoS exec are not keen on groundshares on grass so doubt they would go for that and don't Dumbarton already have Rangers B as a tenant?
  2. Plenty of skepticism about the alleged Bakhmut counteroffensive: Suspect it's only a matter of time until the Ukrainians pull out of Bakhmut and the only angle that's liable to slow things down is the weather moving to above zero temperatures and the mud that brings.
  3. Surprisingly quiet thread given what's happening today but I guess the usual suspects only post when there's a wind up the other lot angle. At some point the DUP should acknowledge the extent to which they messed up by first backing Brexit and then believing Boris Johnston had their best interests at heart and accept that what's on offer is likely to be as good as it's going to get for the future of Unionism. Whether they will or not...
  4. A St Josephs game at the ground where St James now play from back in the day:
  5. Mainly from Poles by the looks of things: No prizes for guessing what chuja means in Polish.
  6. Think they need to get this bit sorted before a WoS application is likely to be successful: ...“In my 18 years of being away I can’t believe that they don’t have a pitch to call their own. “It’s something we’ve spoken about at great length. We’ve had some encouraging talks on that. “I believe St Patrick’s FPs need a pitch. That would further the club’s links with the community, but it would also create a pathway for the talent...
  7. If a team called Camelon are still playing at Carmuirs Park in red jerseys with a Camelon crest on them it's difficult to see how Camelon are no more. Having said that it would be hilarious if the Syngenta people now get relegated after giving up what looked like a near certainty on being promoted.
  8. Looks like he would have been full-time with Rangers and Dundee United earlier in his career: https://www.transfermarkt.com/mati-zata/profil/spieler/406735 Guess he was surplus to requirements at Camelon when all the Syngenta players arrived.
  9. This comeback win is just what the doctor ordered given who the opposition is next week. I hope the visiting support took heed of this sign when things were not going so well in the first half:
  10. Beyond the obvious I think they play at the same ground, which according to a post I vaguely remember from someone who posts or posted on here was originally the now defunct Elmwood's at some point way back maybe in the 50s.
  11. Sounds like a recipe for lots of completely meaningless games. Think they would be better off risking it and going for 10-10 at this point than trying something exotic with conferences because the promotion and relegation issues between the two divisions would keep the season interesting for more clubs than what is happening right now, but they definitely need to go on a recruitment drive to make that option sustainable in the medium to long term.
  12. American drone supplies never lived up to the hype but maybe that's about to change: https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/ukraine-gets-huge-boost-in-deadly-drone-capabilities-from-u-s
  13. My only point with that was what would constitute a change in political landscape but my understanding of how the NI Assembly works is that if the non-designated parties ever eclipsed the Unionist or Nationalist ones on number of MLAs they would be in line for one half of the FM and DFM post.
  14. What's a little politically motivated mass murder between friends. It would be a different political landscape in NI if the SF-DUP axis was replaced with an Alliance-People Before Profit one.
  15. One small thing I've noticed with the new website is that typing wosfl.co.uk into the header bar of the browser results in a 404 error. You need to type in www.wosfl.co.uk to reach the main page. Minor issue but that should be an easy fix for whoever is hosting it.
  16. Let's not forget Perth Celtic, St Joseph's, Osborne, Alyth United, Errol and Crieff Earngrove. Too bad so many clubs have fallen by the wayside over the years because that has left the Midlands League with an awkward number of clubs.
  17. Think some of them have quite big latent supports that will still show up for a big game, especially BFC Dynamo. That was how it was explained to me by a Werder Bremen fan I know from Berlin who it turned out was really a Tennis Borussia fan who couldn't bring himself to support Hertha in a Bundesliga terms.
  18. Once had to introduce someone from Wroclaw to an audience of 100 people after my colleague on the podium pointed to it with a look of complete panic and abruptly handed over the duties to me. No time to do a quick google search and narrowly resisted the urge to say "...from the city in Poland formerly known as Breslau" because Poles are liable to flip their lid if you do something like that. Was later told I was not too far off until I reached the final w.
  19. The name would have had to change to Hamilton Grammarian (or whatever) back in the 1970s if there was still a link. Hamilton Academy doesn't exist any more.
  20. If the issue with Letham was the distance between the dressing rooms and the pitch, it's difficult to see how the setup in this graphic from the previous page meets the EoS requirements. Maybe Peebles Rovers sets a precedent for existing members to be given leeway on that.
  21. If the licensing committee have the discretion to add extra requirements to any application as they see fit that could effectively still be the case. Might be a bit awkward to add something to the rules that would mean having to boot out a club like Clyde.
  22. Some talk that Mariupol has been hit by 150 km range GLSDB missiles: Also plenty of skepticism but these are known to be arriving later this year at some point.
  23. You know you are playing on a tight pitch when you see a 10 yards mark inside the penalty box.
