  1. As the comedian Jim Jeffries points out, "the right to bear arms" was added at a time when people were still using muskets, not assault rifles and automatic weapons.
  2. Irish player James Cronin banned for accidentally taking a PED. Aye right. What would be the odds of getting somebody else's tablets and they turn out to be a PED. And the ban is a joke as there will be no games in that period. https://www.rte.ie/sport/rugby/2020/0420/1132691-cronin-receives-1-month-doping-ban-for-pharmacy-mix-up/
  3. Registered deaths in the UK for the week ending April 10th totalled 18516, 76% higher than the 5 year average. 826 of those deaths were in care homes, compared with just 195 the previous week.
  4. Yep, was just highlighting the fact that it isn't always intentional for so many police to be there. There is also the factor that they aren't very busy at the moment.
  5. My workmate was telling me last week that the street where his daughter lives in Tollcross had an incident last week. A guy was having an argument with his missus/bird, he was on the pavement and she was at a first floor window. Somebody called the police, and the guy threatened to cough on them, so they steamed in and brought him to the ground. During the struggle though one of the officer's panic buttons must have been pushed, and within 5 minutes 7 other police vehicles showed up.
  6. Will be at work, but we were pretty quiet last week so will hopefully catch a chunk of it.
  7. Not good to hear. The trouble for all clubs will be that we might be given the go ahead to get out on the course, but with the clubhouse still having to remain closed. We lost a load of revenue last August and September with a few Saturdays and Sundays lost to the weather, there will be a huge hole in finances to plug for every club this year.
  8. An absolute hiding, pishing myself at the nick of Wang and co trying to answer everything as quickly as possible after spending the whole series debating answers for ages.
  9. Paid just under 103 per litre at the weekend, cost me 7 or 8 quid less than usual to fill up.
  10. Contrasting home draft room set ups for John Lynch and Dave Gettelman.
  11. It falls down due to teams having games in hand. In Division 2 in the West both Johnstone Burgh and Ashfield are outside the top 4, but are way behind in games played but are only 3 and 5 points behind 4th spot. Burgh especially would he very hard done to, and ultimately it doesn't matter about promotion and relegation as we move to the new set up and new conferences.
  12. Aye, doubt he would have been awarded the try now with TMOs around, looks like he puts the ball down on his leg. I like Moore, calls things as he sees it regardless of the teams involved, and does a sterling job winding up gammons on Twitter.
  13. Made steak pie the other week with a packet of these in it.
  14. There have been quite a few conspiracy theories surrounding Covid 19, including it being a Chinese bioweapon, and/or 5G being to blame. Maybe we should look closer to home. The main website is effectively a moment frozen in time, and guess what the video is playing? St. Mirren scoring against Hearts. Coincidence? https://www.pieandbovril.com/
  15. I quite like a McDonald's breakfast mcmuffin, so had to resort to making my own.
  16. You just aren't believing in it hard enough.
  17. The Times article is behind a paywall, but Owen Jones has put pretty much all of it on Twitter. The most damning quote for me is "We could have been Germany, but instead we were doomed by our own incompetence, our hubris, and our austerity."
  18. I think the fact that when Rob Andrew had pretty much free reign to pick any scrum half he wanted to play at Newcastle, and he picked Armstrong, tells you everything you need to know about how good he was.
  19. The breakdown was the first thing that caught my eye too, we matched everybody physically then, sadly we don't often enough now.
  20. Gary Armstrong really was world class, the amount of tackles he put in against England was astounding. Difference against England was Chalmers knocking most of his kicks over, while England missed more than they scored.
  21. Watching the 2015 Masters, Spieth was utterly imperious, 5 ahead with 6 to play. It's been some loss of form for him over the last couple of years. After the 2018 Masters he was 3rd on the OWGR, he's now 54th.
