  1. 8 for Friday. I did know what sport the Italian classic was on about, didn't know who wrote the opera or who the singer in Q10 was though.
  2. Condolences from all at Petershill, where Frannie had lots of friends on our committee, going way back to when he was a player with us in the early 1980s. I remember years ago seeing a Yarrows magazine that was done in a sort of fanzine style, and in it featured a profile of Frannie. His list of skills included "being able to cook a three course meal on a Baby Belling cooker."
  3. Calum Hill wins the Verrado Founders Championship by a shot, winning the first prize of $4500.
  4. The Cowboys are signing Aldon Smith on a 1 year deal, $2m basic salary with s further $2m in incentives. He hasn't played a game since 2015. This is all pending him being reinstated, as he is still subject to an indefinite ban that was issued in 2015.
  5. McKellar Golf, last 2 with Geoff Ogilvy and Padraig Harrington as guests have been superb.
  6. If anybody is stuck at home and wants a decent podcast to listen to, the last 2 McKellar Golf podcasts have been excellent. Lawrence Donegan and John Huggan are the regular hosts, last week they had Geoff Ogilvy as guest, and this week Padraig Harrington. Both well worth a listen.
  7. Calum Hill managed to get himself to Arizona before flights were stopped, his girlfriend comes from there. He leads after the second round of 3 at the Verrado Founders Championship on the Outlaw Golf Tour.
  8. I for one welcome our new goat overlords. Edit: beaten to it about an hour ago. Fwiw, one of my workmates comes from Campbeltown, they quite regularly get goats wandering on to the golf course at Macrahanish and climbing all over cars in the car park.
  9. Simple enough to elect a new committee from what is left though?
  10. Sky News with a proper shark jumping moment, interviewing Terry Waite for advice on how to survive in isolation. 4 and a half years blindfolded and chained to a radiator being so very similar to being asked to stay at home and watch TV for a couple of months.
  11. I wouldn't even include Crystal in the list tbh.
  12. That's assuming the season starts somewhere close to being on time. If it didn't start until September it would be nigh on impossible to fit in 30 league games by the start of May, along with cup ties.
  13. According to the German tennis federation, there will be a board meeting at the All England club tomorrow and they will then announce that Wimbledon will be completely cancelled this year. As it's on grass they would have a very limited window when it could be played, and the French have already jumped to rearrange their Open for just after the US Open. The ATP aren't happy with the French as their new dates clash with tournaments already on the calendar.
  14. My cousin works as a steward on the Caledonian Sleeper, the staff have had it shite for long enough with the new trains being a disaster. They have been asking management for a few weeks now why they are still deemed as essential as passenger numbers have plummeted. Serco's response has been to reduce the number of trains, tonight's southbound to London from Edinburgh has a grand total of 3 passengers on it, the crew swapped trains at Lockerbie and found the northbound service had no passengers at all. It would actually cost Serco less to pay everybody to stay at home.
  15. Better get your hard hat on, you'll probably have incoming.
  16. Think they were, there were at least 2 proposals from what I remember, with the club's involved being asked to join together and they then came up with the one that was adopted.
